    Fixtures 22/23 July

Galway after going 3-1 up at home to Wexford. Trying to watch the live stream from Terryland is incredibly difficult. Parts of the pitch disappear on either end. Caught the third goal though, not sure what Doyle was trying to achieve in the Wexford goal but I'll wait to see Soccer Republics camera before deciding for sure how strange his decision was to try and close down the angle yet leave half the goal wide open.

Bohs 0-1 Derry at half time in Dalymount.

In the First Division it's currently:

    Athlone 0-1 Limerick
    Cabinteely 1-0 Waterford
    Shelbourne 0-1 Drogheda

Ramsbottom could find himself in goal sooner rather than later after Conor Winns latest ****-up. Either that or the ball took an incredible bobble in front of Winn. Disastrous goalkeeping.

    Galway 3-2 Wexford

I'm assuming the powers that be have no control over the programme now then? Good work. I see they've now erected hoardings to prevent those protesting outside from seeing the game. Possibly doing them a favour these days but very petty nonetheless!

I resigned from media officer of club last Friday after nearly 10 years and no one appointed in my place yet as far as I know. More pages over at Athlone Town FC Fans page on Facebook. Programme wouldnt be finished until late Thursday night for printing Friday morning every week so no time to proof read anyways.

Think we could go on a run of defeats like earlier in the season. We are either good or awful. It's not just the ground that needs rebuilding.

Good stuff BR. I remember (from on here) that you've always been a loyal club man even whilst living away from Athlone so I'm sure it takes a lot for you to pack it in. We've quite a few unhappy fans at the moment but at least our chairman isn't deliberately trying to remove us from LOI (and has pumped in a very large amount of money since 99/2000 or so to keep us afloat).

43 years supporting club (strated at age of 7) and 10 years of committee and a few years supporters club. Have family ties to club back to about 1906 and it breaks my heart at the minute to part with it. Been burnt out and was thinking of it for a while but current goings on pushed me over edge. I am one of the concerned members group, a member of the consortium they are talking about and pro for trust now. I need a fresh start to recharge. I need sanity to operate and have had a heart issue the last two years as well that is now almost solved (nothing serious)

Best of luck. There will be a turning point when the current regime are either denied a licence (it can and will be done if JD decides it's best) or can't sustain the financial bleed. Temporary pain and as far as I'm aware the stadium is out of the committee's hands?

He's prone to those. Was expecting Ramsbottom to come in after no more than a few games. If he doesn't play v Longford, he will in the following game, imo. I said already that I think Winn needed to put in some excellent performances to keep his spot.

As a Harps fan, I know only too well what sort of mistakes he's prone to.

Poor enough last night, aye. I do think you've the makings of a half-decent team there too.
Didn't think it was a great game to watch, but our goal was well worked (even if Patterson maybe miss-hit it).
That's three games in a row we've played poorly but still came away with the three points. Good sign, I suppose.

Important win for Galway last night. Also important that Vinny is back scoring, also assisted for a goal. A great individual goal by Connolly, maybe Doyle made it a bit easier for him as mentioned above, but still good skill displayed. I was impressed by Murphy for Wexford until his sending off. In the modern game I suppose you can not tackle like that, but for me a straight red was a harsh, clumsy more than malicious intent maybe?
Youths scored from two shots from outside the box, the first a great clean strike, the 2nd bounced in front of Winn and deceived him badly. Big game v Longford coming up.

    UCD lead in Cobh.
Longford surely have to win tonight against Rovers to stand any chance of survival in the Premier division.
