Player of the year awards are a bit of a joke, wouldn't take too much notice of Nash not winning.
The truth is nobody's going to vote for the lad playing for the team at the top of the table, as can be seen by the fact that of the four junior player of the year winners only one of them topped the table. For arguments sake, if you're Carrig Celtic are you really going to vote for Declan Nash if he tore you a new one twice?
I'm going to use Creeves Celtic as an example.
Last season Creeves Celtic were relegated and Seamus Mangan was Division Two player of the year despite the fact that Granagh and AK were head and shoulders above the rest.
This year James O'Connor won Division Three Player of the year despite the fact that Creeves had a terrible season finishing fourth in the league and sixth in the cup in a season where Ferry and NCW B where out on their own. See a trend?
Nothing against Seamus Mangan and James O'Connor who are both flaking players.
