Ya fair play to Feenagh - they've gone on some run but what I wondered was, what happened for the first 3/4 of the season? Johnnie C do you have any link to them or have I imagined that?
Shearer the premier only needs an extra team if NCW do what looks like the impossible and stay up - they do have Killeaney & Ballingarry who they have to beat but they'd prob need 2 wins from Rathkeale/Broadford/Abbey - if they're relegated it'll be Division 1 thats short a team
After being hammered in Reidy Cup semi by Creeves ( played second half with 10 players cause only one sub and he already used) relegation seemed a formality but credit to the lads they've gone on a good run since and still have a chance to survive going into last game.
The season has obviously been a huge let down given that we finished third and reached League Cup Final previous season. Two key players from last season are not involved this season ( concentrated on Gaelic with Drom Broadford) and that allied to a poor start saw interest levels wane with a few others.
Here's my theory on what will happen with the divisions in the event of the likely amalgamation of Newcastle teams...
(All this is assuming NCW A go down to division 1)
So if there were no mention of amalgamation next year would see Rovers A in the Premier, NCW A in Division 1 and both B teams would be in Division 2.
My guess is if they join the Desmond League will ask them to fill in the gap remaining in Division 1 to keep things smooth.
Newcastle (United) A in premier, Newcastle (United) B in Division 1 and Newcastle (United) C in division 2.
It'll ultimately be up to themselves if they want to enter their B team in Division 1, I personally think they'd be better off letting their B team in Division 2 and enter a C team in Division 3.
If they do that most likely the 9th place team in Division 1 will be a) Offered a reprieve, b) Told to playoff with 3rd place in Division 2.
Something will have to be done as above in Division 2 regardless of what divisions Newcastle end up in because its losing a team either way they go about it.
They won't want to roll with 9 in a division.
That's right boys, I just dropped some knowledge....
Heard that there's talk of a Bally Rovers/Killeaney amalgamation.
I think they'd go straight to the Premier (unless they wanted to start off in Division Two of course). Provided that Killeaney avoid the drop.

genuine question lads, dju know on a match card, do you have to fill out the full players name or would just say t.brosnan be ok? any sanctions if u didnt fill it correctly just a topic im really interested in as if they take much attention to the match cards
Massive weekend of soccer ahead with the Desmond Cup Semi Finals. Definitely the best pairings in 20 years. On Friday the current champions are up against it against a rampant Rathkeale while on Saturday the greatest Desmond League team of all time might just have enough for Broadford. A defeat for Abbey would be disastrous with only the league cup final left after last weeks defeat to Rathkeale
Full name required
Greatest team the Desmond League has ever seen? I burst out laughing there again.
Ten Euro to get into a Desmond League Semi Final FFS??
Ten Euro for a semi final? That's a disgrace by the League. That's steep
Glin 1 Rathkeale 1 (Glin win 6-5 on penalties)
Entertaining game , scoreless at ht, Glin took lead 20 minutes into second half with penalty, Declan Nash equalized with header.
Rathkeale enjoyed a lot of possession but Lyons made a number of good saves to see it go to penalties. all sides scored until the 12th penalty when the rathkeale no 11 had the misfortune of hitting the crossbar.
It was after all a fiver in, about 200 there three quarters of whom seemed to be from Glin.
Ya 5 euro made sense.decent enough game. Thought ratkeale would be better, I seen them twice this year. Once at home to Abbey and last nite, they have not impressed me at all.poor in midfield where it matters wit one of there centre mids having very little pace.. Well done to glin though.. tonight game shur be a cracker. Two of the best footballing teams in Desmond leg for quiet a while..i would favour Bradford to get through if rumours about Abbey players injury list are through.. Bradford were impressive last wk in spells.. hopefully weather will not ruin the game...pitch is in great shape also ..
Broadford 2 Abbeyfeale 0
Broadford just about shaded the encounter. Michael Brosnan had Broadford 1-0 up at the break. Abbey had quite an amount of the ball in the second half but never really threatened. Michael Brosnan added a second in injury time to seal the deal. Clounreask Pitch was in top order , very small crowd , hardly a hundred there tonight.
