Yesterday's player records were Glenn Whelan and John Aldridge, today's two players are both retired, just to make it more difficult

That's nasty. I've found the retired players easier so far - but this is just far back enough that a lot of players are blurring in to one.
Is it SPOILER: Graham Barrett and Gary Doherty?
Edit - sorry, not SPOILER: Graham Barrett, but maybe SPOILER: Stephen McPhail instead?

Can I ask if Ryan Scully the Partick Thistle Goalkeeper is Irish qualified?
His stats state he was born in Dublin. He is 24 years old, has played 100 plus games, and he would seem to be a stronger option than Danny Rogers for inclusion in the Irish squad...............if qualified of course!!
that's a strange one, according to his wiki entry, he was born in Dublin, but most places list his nationality as Scottish, even his player profile at former club Dunfermline which includes his birthplace: https://web.archive.org/web/20141105...t%20Team&ID=10
Yesterday's two records were Gary Doherty and Stephen McPhail. Who are these two retired player records?

Hm.
Going to have to have a think about the first one.
Is the second SPOILER: Mark Lawrenson?
Had to give up on the second one and google it I'm afraid! Only person I could think of who ended his career in 1985 - just pre-Jack - was Séamus McDonagh, but it's not him. Wouldn't have gotten that one at all tbh. One for you so!
Yesterday was Mark Lawrenson and Tony Grealish
Today's two players

SPOILER: Andy Townsend and Lee Carlsey?
Just skimming through there, not up with the play at all but are Pineapple Stu's posts meant to be legible through the black strip ? Cos they clearly are.
Yesterday's players were Lee Carsley and Andy Townsend, last two player records today
