Westwood, Egan and Carey named in the EFL Team of 2016: http://www.efl.com/news/article/2016...6-3491454.aspx
Goalkeeper: Kieren Westwood (Sheffield Wednesday)
Westwood played a huge part in the success that Sheffield Wednesday enjoyed last season, and has taken his fine form into the current campaign.
The Republic of Ireland international kept nine clean sheets at the back-end of 2015/16 and was outstanding in the Play-Off Final defeat to Hull City, and he has kept another eight so far this term with the Owls in promotion contention once again.
Defender: John Egan (Gillingham/Brentford)
Egan was in excellent form in 2016, firstly for Gillingham and then for Brentford, after the Sky Bet Championship outfit moved for his services in the summer.
The 24-year-old earned a place in the PFA League One Team of the Year despite the Gills narrowly missing out on a Play-Off spot, then began his Bees career in style by scoring twice on his home debut, in what was also one of eight clean sheets kept by the club so far this term.
Midfielder: Graham Carey (Plymouth Argyle)
Despite Plymouth slipping out of the automatic promotion places in the second half of the 2015/16 season, Carey was still one of the standout players in Sky Bet League Two, and was named the sixth best player in the division as the Pilgrims missed out on promotion in the Play-Off Final.
The Irishman is at his best again this term with nine goals and eight assists to date, and the Green Army are riding high once again, only trailing the league leaders due to goal difference.
Richie Towell scores the only penalty, nine players all win four games and more in the December appearance stats for Irish players: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...15288498696906
Unsurprisingly Richard Keogh has started the most games (and completed all of them), Adam Rooney has scored the most goals and more in our review of 2016/17 to date: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/Blog...05458124450733
Good to see Henderson get a game for forest today the Serbian lad must be injured he wasn't on the bench. Murphy played again for Cardiff it seemed a brave call moving there would be fantastic if he got a good run

McLoughlin and McDonnell on bench for Ipswich . I think McLaughlin might have been on the bench previously maybe in league cup. McDonnell is one we might have expected to have been more involved this season

Doesn't seem to have been involved at 23 s yet at palace

Richie Towell after scoring his first goal for Brighton today in the FA Cup away to Lincoln City
Don't think there's any thread on Lincoln City's captain Alan Power. I resisted opening one seeing as he's 29 and playing non-league football, but they're the story of the FA Cup so far, beating Ipswich and Brighton to reach the last sixteen. Power scored a penalty to set them on their way today.
Best Irish Power since Lee Power.
Was he highly rated at one point, or am I confusing him with another player named Power?
