Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has a link to the RTE commentary for the goal?
Thanks
The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist thinks it will change; the realist adjusts the sails.
I'll take all the flak I rightly deserve. That was a great performance regardless of how poor Italy were. All saying in England that Ireland really put everything into it on the pitch.
I know a few people have posted that this was the first competitive game that Shane Long started, and we went on to win, but it's not true. Shane Long's first competitive start was the 2-1 win over San Marino under Staunton.
It was his first starting competitive win since that game though, which probably led to the confusion

Ah. That's the only link I've seen anyway; anything on YouTube seems to either be people videoing the replay, or some random other channel.
One stat that has emerged, and I'm open to correction on this, is that no Irish born player from outside Dublin has scored at a major finals. All have been from Scotland, England, Wales or Dublin.
Houghton, Whelan, Sheedy, Quinn, Aldridge, Holland, Keane, Duff, Breen, St Ledger, Hoolahan and now Brady.
Northside / Southside breakdown? Looks 3-3 to me
Brady is a Fingallian.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
Duff (Ballyboden) ,Keane (Tallaght) and Quinn (Perrystown) - all SS.
Wes (Sherriff Street?), Whelan (Whitehall?), Brady (Fingallian as you say).
Thought Brady was from Baldoyle?
St Ledgers from Co Birmingham!

First chance to login since I have returned from France. Can't go to Lyon - no ticket and sick as a pig. Thank God the Italians had already qualified and O'Neill picked a team to get among them. It panned out as we had dreamed, including a late winner. Hendrick player of the tournament so far. Everything else covered but let's not regard this as job done. Unlikely to get much again from the ref tomorrow. 0-0 and penos.
