So Shamrock Rovers have signed a fairly low-profile Third Division player (yer man from Rochdale) and are now looking to sign someone who can't make a Conference team. On the other hand, people will claim that the eL is as good as Division Two, possibly Division One.

Without bringing up international caps here, who's right? I know Division Two and Three teams have had offers turned down for eL players, which is the flip side, as is, say, Shels' and Millwall's performance in Europe (both knocked fairly comfortably out in the First Round of the UEFA). Rovers also will be expected to struggle in the Premier. But do we (or not) hold our league in too high regard?
