Zavagnin is a so-so defensive midfield player, but is already capped by the US so don't expect to see him trotting out in a green shirt. The player I would compare him most with would be Lee Carsley of someone of his type. Not great but a good worker. What's funny about him is that he was quite mediocre all his career but it is only in the last year that Bruce Arena has played him for the US. And he's done ok the few times he's played. He played for the Metrostars years ago when he sucked.
He is probably just looking for a job in England and having an Irish passport will make it much easier for him.
But calling him a 'Top' US player is quite a stretch.
