Alan Keane played for us tonight in a friendly against Everton.
Has been playing GAA in Sligo the last while
Don't think he was going to get a contract from us
Would be a decent bit of cover for Dundalk, especially when you see Cork ponying up for an older Dave Mulcahy.
Not a rumour, but interesting read about the cost of players in this country.

Interesting that the Irish League is apparently paying big money. I doubt it's widespread but there has always been clubs there whop would spend big on a few big names and pad the rest out with lads on relatively little.
But then again it's always hard to know what to take seriously with Shiels.

Yea i'd estimate that it's only the top 3/4 clubs that can pay wages that would be double that of Derry, and as Mr A said, they probably don't pay big money to all their players, just a select few on each team who have that bit of extra quality.
Shields puts their extra financial resources down to good club management, which I don't agree with though. For me it's plain and simple - the prize money in the Irish league is higher.
What's the prize money in the north?
Yeah just pay the quality players a good wage
Kind of appropriate that yer man's name is Nacho.

"I'm going to be based in Moira. It is quiet and peaceful. Sometimes it is good to just relax and not be in a big town where there are more people around. I like living in the countryside," said Novo, who hasn't tried an Ulster fry yet because "I'm looking after myself", but intends to at some stage.
I love the part in bold
Not sure if its already been posted here but Dundalk are set to announce the signings of Alan Keane & Dean Shiels on Friday. Both players are 31 and will add some cover & experience to the group.
