    Niall McNamara

Anyone know anything about this guy?

    Taken from eleven-a-side:

    McNamara destined for non-league football

    January 16, 2005

Limerick-born former Irish youth international striker Niall McNamara appears destined for non-league obscurity after being released by English League Two side Lincoln City – with Unibond League and Northern Premier sides scrapping it out for his signature.

McNamara, who spent time at both Nottingham Forest and Notts County, has already had one stint in non-league football with Belper Town.

That was ended when Lincoln City took him on two years ago, but he made just two league starts for the Sincil Bank side before being released at the end of December.

Unibond League Division One side Lincoln United and Northern Premier Division One strugglers Spalding United are both interested in the striker, who will turn 23 in two weeks time.

However, there remains a possibility that he could return to the eircom League, where the revolution at hometown club Limerick FC may well find a place for a talented player gone astray.

know him well excellant schoolboy player numerous underage caps about 20 at all levels up to under 18 and he may have been called into a few 21 squads as well, can play on the wing or upfront but i dont know if he will come back as far as i know he is going steady with an english girl, he was with notts forest and played a handful of first team games, and was with notts county and lincoln up to last year. he was unbelievable at schoolboy and if he has a fraction of the talent left he would be well worth a look

    he trained with us

After being let go by Forest he came home and trained with us two summers ago. It was our good squad of two years ago so he was interested in signing but lincoln offered him a deal and he had success up front for the first few weeks untill he got an injury. Thats all i know bout him really think he played with geraldines, but not sure there.
