    Ah that's very sad.

I know he drove a few mad down the years - myself included! - but jaysus, this really puts things in perspective. RIP

Ffs, who am I gonna spar on here with now.... 😳
Genuinely sad to hear of zekes passing. He ws as staunch dundalk as I am staunch Rovers.
His last 5 years following the club he loved so much( and blindly defended against any naysayers !) coincided with their best even side, one could argue, so he got to witness that I suppose.
RIP to his family and those who knew him well.

In this particular era of foot.ie's existence which is now long past both the golden age of internet forums and the website itself he was one of the forum's stalwart posters and the catalyst of many an enlivened debate here. I could never tell where the passionate Dundalk super fan ended and the wind up merchant began. I remember even myself being drawn in for a mild swipe at him a couple of years ago. Foot.ie will be less colourful for his absence. I wouldn't have known who he was or that much about him off the forum were it not for Oriel's post. I am very sorry to all those on here who knew him. May he rest in peace.

The infrequent posts had me fearing the worst as not so long ago he alluded test he had to under go in October, Met in the local supermarket about then and he seemed in fine fettle. I can assure all that if in Dundalk/Oriel you would find it hard ti get a better host no matter who your club was. I too asked him about SRFC and he just gave a cheeky smile with the eyes glinting mischief - he had fun with the regular exchanges here but also brought valid points forward also. I was shocked to hear the news and will miss his presence here and certainly the chats in Oriel or wherever we might meet. RiP Colm.

Always sad to hear of the passing of one of the league of Ireland community, as mentioned it's a small enough group really, and the foot.ie community is an even smaller sub section. Rest in peace.

RIP, Ezekial. I think if he were a player he'd have been the kind of one-club man to attract howls of fury from opposition fans - the same fans who would have given him cult hero status if he'd only agreed to bring his passion and loyalty to play for them instead. He'll be sadly missed in these parts.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

My Dad always talks about seeing him play when he lived in Dublin in the 60s. Said he was incredibly talented and one of the best players the league ever had. RIP.

Saw Ben when he played for Rovers. Think he played in that great win in the fog in Dalymount Park over Schalke 04 in the late 1960s. Another Shels man Eric Barber may also have been in that Rovers side as well. Ben used to like to imitate Denis Law of Man Utd in the way he held the cuffs of his sleeve when he scored. He may also have won cup medals with Rovers as well. RIP big man.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

When he was with Dundalk (in his prime years) he was called Big Ben, everybody called him Big Ben, sports news regularly went with the default headline, "Big Ben strikes again".
Now the bells have tolled for Big Ben. RIP Ben.
