That's terrible news, used to be on to Hugh ahead of games and he was always responsive and helpful. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace Hugh, didn't know him but a well known league of Ireland fan who I recall ran buses to Finn Park for a couple of big play off games, sleep well.

Sad news to hear of the passing of well known Dundalk FC supporter Colm Crosson aka Ezekial around these parts.
Colm was a former communications officer at the club during the Gerry Matthews ownership.
May he rest in Peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam

We are devastated to hear the news tonight guys, got to know Colm a lot since 2010, this was one big DFC fan, but on another side a massive LOI fan. The kind of guy who got to Oriel Park before 7pm just in time to buy the programme and read it before the game, drinking a coffee while most others (myself included at times) were more interested in pre match beers. He always made time for a chat, and came from a family who's business sponsored games all during the hard times of the 80's and after.

One of his greatest achievements was the BETOP campaign in 2010, (Bring European Football to Oriel Park), the then owner Gerry Matthews (who arguably did more to the ground than p6 but that's for another day) gave an ultimatum, he would pay to install 2k exta seats, if 2.5k tickets were sold for the Grevenmacher (Lux) game in 2010, the first one in oriel for 17 years, and 3k tickets were sold, he did a great PR job on this, on oriel web, and within the ground.

For Rovers fans, I asked him once about Bradley, he just smiled at me, and had a little laugh, I think he just really enjoyed the banter.

RIP Colm, a pleasure knowing you, really enjoyed those chats when we did speak.

#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

I would echo the above sentiments, that is shocking and sad. I am a relatively new member but have the read the forum along time previous. Thoroughly entertained by some of his jousts with other fans on here and then manages to get involved myself once or twice but sure no harm in that. Obviously a big presence at Dundalk. RIP.

Ah jesus, that's very sad altogether. You always get to know the names here without ever really knowing the faces. Dreadfully sad when one of our own wee community passes away. May he rest in peace.

Shocked to hear that. Condolences to his family and friends. Used to love his battles with the Shams fans.
