There used to be (maybe still is) a tobacconist on Grafton St near Trinity College that sold all sorts of smokes. I uses to go there to buy Giyanes when I had notions of being like Slash from GNR back in the day.

The guy who died in the traffic accident on the NII near Wexford yesterday (Wednesday) was the father of former Wexford Youths players, Warren and Kallum Broaders. Kallum was also on the books of Waterford FC for a time. Rest in peace, Eddie.

Indeed a very sad day especially for Bohs but also the league ( he did serve as manager of Rovers and Athlone) hopefully his memory will be acknowledged on Monday next by all

Sorry to hear this, I remember Billy Young very well from Bohs days, he would have won 2 titles I think in the 70's, possibly a cup too.

Would have been manager in the famous 3-2 UEFA cup win over Rangers in 84.

    RIP

Billy Young was the manager when I first started to go and watch games in the mid seventies. As young lad we sang Billy, Billy give us a wave, give us a wave and before we sang sang it again he waved at us. That was either, we were bad singers or he had good crowd engagement. I believe it was the latter. Many big games against better teams, Newcastle and other but the most memorable was Rangers in 1984. Many thanks for getting me hooked on Bohs Billy. Rest well my friend and remember Bohs fans will never forget you. Thanks for the memories Billy.

Not sure how I missed it at the time but I was addened to hear of the death of Peter McParland, former Dundalk, Aston Villa and Northern Ireland legend earlier in this month. I doubt there are too many former LoI players that could claim top goal scorer at a World Cup. The last of his era, RiP.
