Pat Shine has passed away after a battle with cancer. She of you will know him from the early days of foot.ie or from our forum as Patsh.
Pat was the original person who came up with FORAS. With a number of others he was a founding member. He was on the board when we took over the club for years and last year after beating cancer, joined the board again and and is a current board member.
We would not have a club as we know it without Pat. Without his foresight we may not have had FORAS up and running and been in a position to take over the club in 2010.
Our club has lost one of the people it owes its existence too, and the league of ireland has lost a lifelong fan who gave everything for his club. He was also a strong proponent or us sharing our experiences and knowledge with other clubs.
He will be sorely missed, though many won't have known his name or his impact in the background.
RIP Patsh
Figured Patsh had been a member on here too. Condolences.
I didn't know his role in FORAS but remember Patsh from here. That's very sad to hear. Sincere condolences from Waterford.
I remember him from here alright. Condolences to family and friends.

Joe Colwell former chairman and board member at Shamrock Rovers passed away on Christmas Day.
One life's decent skins, he will be fondly remembered by those who came in contact with him

Just reading reports on his contribution to SRFC, he really did make a serious contribution to keeping the show on the road, if you pardon the pun, when Rovers were left homeless. Seems he was the main instigation of Tallaght being the choice of location too to set down some new roots for as long as it took in the end. Its when clubs are at their lowest ebb that the real work and dedication are needed and its rare to find people will that will step up in those most difficult times!

For LOI fans who don't remember him for his work on the stage or in iconic Irish movies such as Micheal Collins may know him from this brilliant closer piece from MNS end of 2012(when MNS was a bit decent)
Amazing!!
Jer's funeral takes place on Thursday 4/1/2019 - https://www.rip.ie/death-notice/jere...-dublin/374779
Deepest sympathies to all his family at these very strained times and farewell to a great Irish man.

Desperately sad news about a great fan of Dundalk, local soccer, crazy football bets and an all round good bloke.
Away fans will have probably visited his pub in Park street - "Jimmys".
The pub was also the starting and ending point of many a LoI away trip for Dundalk fans.
Gone way too soon.
RIP - Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
