Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Absolutely terrible news this morning.
RIP Izzy
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Terrible news.RIP
Former Dundalk manager Sean McCaffrey has passed away.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
Very sad to hear about Sean's passing.
I shouted for his resignation when he was at Dundalk while knowing he was massively regarded as a top coach and fella.those were hard days at Oriel doing that.
rip
Sad news. 2012 was a very difficult year for Dundalk, losing 7-0 and 6-0 away to Rovers were amongst the many low points and he was always going to have a very tough job given the state of the club financially.
I totally agreed with his leaving at the time, but he did bring two decent players to the club who would go on to win 3 in a row league titles. Mountney and Shields.
RIP Big man
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
That is a huge shock with Sean McCaffrey. Was he seriously ill does anyone know?
I was the same with Tony Cousins when I called for his resignation in 2016. That was a shocking tough season.
Was Sean still involved in football before he passed away?
Sorry to hear about the loss of him as he was immense with the Irish underage sides.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
As far as I remember he’s had a serious illness for a number of years which is why he was in the wheelchair. I assume his death is related to that, sadly.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
He was diabetic and hence why he had lost a leg. An insidious and poorly understood disease. He wasnt well enough over the last few years to be involved in coaching football anyways but maybe he was involved at committee level local to him. His mobility was very poor when at Dundalk even, so 5 years on!?

That's very upsetting news. Recall him coming through as 'the next Roy Keane' before his move to Man United, the excitement surrounding his move to Cork in 2015, and it's just a shame he had so much unfulfilled potential. Now, sadly, a life cut so cruelly short. May he rest in peace.

Ken Finn who has died in New Jersey played with Dundalk for five seasons in the 1950s, making 129 first team appearances.
He was the possessor of a very rare set of honours: in 1955 he captained the Irish Youths against Liverpool Youths; he won an FAI Cup medal with Dundalk in 1958 against Shamrock Rovers; he earned three USA Caps, two of them in World Cup qualifiers against Mexico and with the New York GAA team he was twice a winner of GAA League medals, against Dublin (1964) and Galway (1967).
