Deserved win by WYW in Greenogue tonight although the ever-dangerous Amber Barrett for Peamount caused a few concerns for the WYW defence. First goal came on eight minutes when Linda Douglas got the ball out wide and hit a cross/shot which sailed into the far corner of the net. Second goal was notched by Claire O'Riordan on 24 minutes when she turned inside the Peamount penalty area and hit a low shot past the Peamount keeper. 2-0 to WYW at half-time although they had overhit a lot of passes whilst playing with the strong wind. WYW played better in the second half although they had only one further goal to add to the score-sheet. That was the goal of the night and came on 55 minutes when the excellent Emma Hansberry broke forward down the right, crossed low for Claire O'Riordan who laid it back to Lauren Dwyer who chipped it delightfully over the Peamount keeper for 3-0. 3-0 at full-time. In addition to Emma Hansberry, best for WYW were Nicola Sinnott, Linda Douglas and Aisling Frawley. It won't be an easy task, but an away win in Galway on Sunday will clinch the league title once again for WYW.
