Only realised it myself but surprised the Mansfield-Newport County League Two semi final hasn't got a mention on here.
Pádraig Amond scored a late penalty in the 1st Leg to secure a 1-1 draw. Conrad Logan was deemed to have fouled a Newport substitute but replays showed that he got two hands on the ball before taking the player out. It was probably a poor decision from him to come out at all but he was supposed to have had a fine game otherwise. He saved the penalty too only for Amond to tap in the rebound.
After a 0-0 draw in the 2nd Leg, Newport won 5-3 on penalties, Amond scoring their second. Ryan Sweeney* and Mark O'Brien both played a full part in the two legs, with O'Brien booked early on in both.
They progress to meet 'Mike Dean's' Tranmere Rovers at Wembley on Saturday. A straight red card from Gavin Gunning early in the 1st leg of that tie proving very costly for Forest Green.
(*Kind of funny seeing POSH having a dig at the foot.ie talent spotters for not highlighting Sweeney as 'one to watch')
O'Brien and Amond start at Wembley.
Mark O'Brien won't be a happy man tonight. He was sent off for a second yellow on the 89th minute as the game was 0-0. Newport, as a result, had 10 men for extra time. On the 29th minute of the 30 in extra time, Tranmere scored the winner to earn promotion.
How did Cullen do? What’s his next play career wise?
I thought he did well today, his team conceded an awful early goal, a back pass over hit beat the keeper. His team were really creaking after it, looked like they might fold, but he got on the ball half a dozen times then, gave a good ball moved and got it back till they were up the pitch and it settled them again. A stretch to say he assisted both goals but he did cross for both in the 2-1 win. Mis hit a few set pieces but showed some nice passing and a bit of calm in a low quality hectic game.

Cullen looked decent today. Charlton should look to sign him permanently now that they've gone up.
