Ok so the title was to grab your attention.
The aim of this post is to draw a line under all the circular arguments that have been dragging on the forum for so long and also to set an agenda for discussion for the next few months until the real discussion starts on the pitch.
Drawing the lines:
1. Connor’s CV credentials are questionable. We all [as Rovers fans] hope that the club checked the references and qualifications. If they didn’t then it’s too late now. ENOUGH SAID.
2. As Connor HAS been appointed, he should be given a chance. Remember that Mourinho started as Bobby Robson’s interpreter. Connor could have picked up a wealth of knowledge at Birmingham. Or he could be talking shiiiit. We’ll see come April. ENOUGH on whether the board were right/wrong/dodgy/whatever. ENOUGH. He’s at the helm – give him a chance -move on.
3. Petmuller and Siemprered are not the same person. THE END.
4. Siemprered often has interesting arguments. But he clouds them with repetition and tries to back up his claims with stuff about his background. We all have an opinion here regardless of qualifications. Simprered: ENOUGH of the repeating yourself! Post NEW comments every time and people will listen to you!
New agenda:
Let’s talk about the squad. Who’s in, who’s out, the rumour mill, who do we need etc.
Let’s talk about next season – who’s good, who’s bad, who’ll be going up etc.
Limerick have just had a significant investor and will be playing in an 8000 all seater Hogan Park before we know it. Will we both be in the Premier in 2 years? No discussion about Limerick here so far…
Let’s talk about the FUTURE – and reference the past when necessary. It doesn’t matter if you were rubbing a wet sheep’s back while watching Rovers away to Monaghan, or whether you got the result on the net while sipping cocktails on a Spanish terrace. We are all fans… are we not?

Nice speech, but all you are doing is confirming why Rovers find themselves in another fine mess, as another comedy duo might have put it. This is really very simple, if you guys are tolerating this then you are just idiots. The guy lied to get his job. He is in breach of contract by any definition you care to mention. In any other sane organisation this is a sacking offence, not just for him but the "enlightened individuals" who hired him. Checking someone's CV is a basic requirement and it is mind-boggling to think that this could be overlooked. To put forward an argument that " he is there now so we must back him" is mindless. It is also the sort of logic that will ensure that we remain a first division club for the foreseeable future.
While not calling for Sean Conner and Michael Toolan to be dragged in stocks through the streets of Sligo, for a public stoning. I do feel the claims and allegations concerning Sean’s qualifications will continue to surface over the coming months, if they are not put to bed now for once and for all. Any one who has ever filled out a job application will admit that they have enhanced their portfolio with the odd little white lie. It’s up to the interview board to conduct a thorough interview and to check on the credentials of the candidates. Yes, a deliberate lie on one’s CV is a dismissal offence in most companies. But, does anyone know what was on his CV? He claimed to have managed a team, which according to Siempered is no better than Sunday league junior football. Hardly something you’d put much emphases on. I don’t think he got the job on that basis, or, at least I’d hope not. I do think the Chairman should come and answer the legitimate concerns of the supporters, regarding the appointment of Sean Conner. Sean is now our manager, only time will tell if it was a good appointment. I’m sure the appointment will surface at the AGM, whenever that is, but I think now is the time to deal with the issue and not drag it on any longer. I fully agree that we should be focused on the future, but we need closure on this matter now. Over to you Mr Chairman.
I have scattered my dreams underneath your feet, tread carefully, cos it's my dreams you walk on.

Agreed. And that is why we should move on from the issue.
A final comment from the chairman won't help. If he comes out and says: "Of course we checked and we are happy with all the details" [which he most probably would say] then that still won't appease many members of this forum.
People will always find things to complain about if they have a negative attitude towards the club. I have come 360 on this one, believe me, I was EXTREMELY disillussioned with the clubs behaviour both on and off the field for a long time but this is an opportunity for optimism.
We are SUPPORTERS for crying out loud. What does that mean to you?
Also, did it not occur to you that the MC know fine well what his credentials are - no-one ever said that his CV said x, y and z - everyone is quoting from the press releases from the club.
Was it not the MC putting the most positive spin on a new appointment to gain the confidence of the fans [an honest endeavour] rather than Connor lying to get the job.
And before I get lynched, I'm not necessarily backing the MC here, I'm just raising a question not yet discussed.
You’re probably right about the MC saying that they checked his credentials, and that they are satisfied with him, otherwise he would never be appointed in the first place. But I still feel that they or the Chairman needs to make such a statement. If they stay dumb it will only lead to more allegations and innuendo.Let them make it clear that the MC is 100% behind the manager, and the way he was appointed.

As an outsider I agree that it is pointless filling your forum with the same arguments over the appointment procedure for the manager.
You are now in a position where O'Connor is in place for the coming season and you can start to judge him, initially on his panel building, but ultimately on the performances of the team once the season starts. At this stage it does nothing to help the club by continuous knocking of the new manager.
In five months time you will be able to make a true assessment of his worth.![]()
