Trophy Manager - online football managment game - I like it - I think I'm getting obsessed with it though.
Irish clubs will now enter the UCL qualifying at QR1 rather than QR2 according to a post on Bert's website - so 4 rounds to get to the group stages rather than 3. The national champions qualification route will now only have 4 rather than 5 qualifications spots. They just make it harder and harder...

With the bigger leagues getting more automatic spots this was always going to happen. It is disappointing for all of the smaller leagues around Europe as the Champions League becomes more of a closed shop. It really adds to the disappointment of not getting past Legia this season as that may well have been the last real chance of an Irish team getting to the CL groups, bar a decent draw for this seasons champions in next year's CL.
Coefficient to be calculated over 10 seasons instead of 5 based on a follow up post on that thread. Great news for Shamrock Rovers, not so much for anyone else. Maybe Pats and Sligo a bit?
In 2018? This won't apply next season. Pats will be back in Europe in a season or two.

Lads,
Ireland co-efficient at the moment is 5.825 and we are in 41st placed. My questions is does anyone know for sure what co-efficient points would be added to this 5.825 by Dundalk if they get a draw in the Europa League or a win? I know it was 0.25 for a win and 0.125 for a draw up to this point (for any of our sides) but does it increase once you get into the group stages? Thanks.
It would be 0.5 for a win and 0.25 for a draw towards the national coefficient in the EL group stages.
Please see below update from Bert on that same thread. In fairness this would be a welcome addition. Those who drop out from UCL QR1 would get a second bite at the cherry in a 'Champion's Path' for Europa league qualification:
For UEL the access list has only entries for the group stage. The other details are left to the Club Competitions Committee. Except for one major point. Clearly indicated is a Champions Path and a League Path as two separate routes for UEL qualifying. The League Path has the usual 4 qualifying rounds, and the Champions Path has 3 qualifying rounds (Q2, Q3, and PO). This must imply that all champions who fail to qualify for the UCL get another chance in the UEL qualification.
Yes - we may never get as close again. On the plus side, there won't be any clubs from the major leagues in the final qualifying rounds.
But it's outrageous how a handful of clubs essentially rule football and bully and threaten UEFA, who always cave in to their demands. It's grotesquely unfair and wrong in every way.
