    Mannion moves upstairs at Galway

Tony Mannion’s third term as manager of Galway United has reportedly come to an end, with the long-serving boss set to take up a position as Director of Football at Terryland Park with immediate effect.

Mannion had been in joint-charge for the Tribesmen’s FAI Cup final appearance in 1985 and, in his second spell at the club, guided Galway to the First Division title in 1993.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
