I would say about 1100 in Bray for the Pats game, the tent (holds 1000) was just about full plus 100 or so behind goal and over in uncovered stand. Not bad considering the rain!
Athlone Town vs Cobh Ramblers Official Attendance 205
I'd guess around 1,500 at Drogheda V UCD. First time in a few years there was a queue to get in.
You've got no fans.
I reckon about 100 to 120 from Cobh, we should have been 3 or 4 up in the first 20 minutes but the first goal calmed the nerves. Didn't play well in the second half and Athlone had a few chances but deserved the win in the end.
Sad to see Athlone in this predicament; where we were ourselves two years ago. Supporters took our club over and it's been on an upward curve since, so if we can do it then Athlone can too.
''and I for one welcome our new insect overlords''
Wouldn't have put it quite that high myself, though I've certainly seen lower crowds there. Maybe 1000? You'd know the ground better than me, but the main stand looked maybe a bit more than half-full - fairly crowded in the middle, but a fair few gaps at either end.
Extratime estimates 850, for what that's worth.
Decent turn out that for Drogs, shows there is an appetite for football in the town.
Has the FD play off system changed this year, was it not usually 2nd v 3rd, one off game with 2nd place side at home, then h + a with the 11th in PD ?
I`m sure I saw it listed, FD play off, h+a also?
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
It changes every couple of years. Because the FAI seem to think changing league format = improving the league
For all the doom and gloom about the first division, the top four (Limerick, Drogs, Cobh and UCD) are all pretty decent. Would think Cobh or Drogs would be at least as good as Wexford in the play-off.
It's not so much that any of the first division clubs are decent, I think it's more that a large chunk of the premier is poison bad.
We won the division by 700 points and we got out of first gear for about three hours all season. And we've four or five in our starting eleven that I wouldn't have within a hundred miles of a decent premier squad.
I've great time for Stephen Henderson and Cobh he always seems to pull together a cheap team of enthusiastic youngfellas who will do exactly what they are told.
Ucd were our prettiest opponents all season arguably deserved a point from both their home games against us.
Drogs are drogs - big and ugly, that pitch is worth a goal a game to them aswell.
I think the only positive thing to be said about the First Division is that I think it's slightly better than last year.
Limerick and Drogheda/Cobh will do better than Wexford/Harps in the Premier I think. I don't see Wexford winning the play-off, but could well be wrong there.
Cobh and Shels have basically swapped places compared to last year. Cabo, Athlone and Waterford are the same really.
I wouldn't be fearing either Longford or Wexford (if they do come down) next season.
The overall league is a little better but Cobh and Drogs are worse than Harps and UCD last year.
