I think its £5million for Reid and £3 for Dawson; Spurs couldn't afford to put him in the reserves at that price.
… sounds like a lot of money for 2 young players. Forrest can hardly turn it down and it would be a great move for Reid.

That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

The BBC website also rumoured that Simon Davies may be shipped to Everton which would be helpful. But lets not fret too much about his prospects of first team football. Even a club with an erratic record like Spurs, don't go spending 8 million on prospect type players to warm the bench.
Time now for young Reid to step up to the next level. Get fitter, get accustomed to playing with more technically adroit team mates and get used to the media gold fish bowl that is London town.
I for one am delighted for the guy. Its a move that was long over due since the Summer. But no matter, he's there now.

Spurs don't have natural left or right sided midfielders. Apparently Zeigler was bought as more of a forward.
They also probably got Dawson as 3rd choice defender as when Naybet is rested they only have Gardner who is woeful.
Reid will be first choice midfielder although maybe alternating onto & off the bench...
Its not that straight forward mate. Probably about £5m guaranteed to Forest and the rest depending on appearances, etc.Originally Posted by drummerboy
Sky Sprorts News have said that Reid has completed his move to Spurs.
Talks are ongoing with Dawson, looking dodgy for him at this stage, but Andy Reid is a Spurs player.
http://skysports.planetfootball.com/...icle&id=253227Tottenham have completed the capture of Andy Reid and are still confident of landing his Nottingham Forest team-mate Michael Dawson.
Spurs beat off competition from a host of other clubs to land Reid and Dawson when tabling an £8 million double offer which proved too difficult for cash-strapped Forest to resist.
The pair travelled to London on Monday afternoon to undertake medicals and discuss personal terms.
Republic of Ireland star Reid passed his medical without a hitch and agreed terms before signing on the dotted line.
After completing the formalities of his deal, Reid said: "I am just delighted to get it done. It has been talked about for a long time and now I am thrilled that is has all gone through. I am looking forward to playing Premiership football.
"I had no hesitation over signing, Tottenham is such a big club and I like the way the chairman, Frank (Arnesen) and Martin (Jol) have transformed things.
"They are bringing lots of young players through and I just want to be part of that.
"My main priority at the moment is to try and win a place in the Spurs team. I have watched the team and have been very impressed, it is a young team developing and I feel they are getting better all the time," he added on Spurs' official website.
Spurs are confident of winning the race to sign Dawson before the window closes.
Finally.
Well Reid has been confirmed already. spurs.co.uk even has a picture of him with a Spurs shirt. Just finalising Dawson now.Originally Posted by thecorner

My other posts are intelligent and witty. This one is an exception.

I think he previously played for 2 junior clubs including Lourdes Celtic. he signed for Nottingham Forest in 1998 so he was around 15 years old then.
Anyone seen any mention of how much the irish clubs are due out of this?
If Reid's transfer fee was £4m, then £200k (5%) is distributed to the clubs who trained Reid between the ages of 12-23. Since he moved to Forest at 15, thats 3 years. I won't go into to much detail (I'm sure you'll find something on the FIFA site) but about 20% of that £200k (40k) would go to the Irish clubs he played for between the age of 12-15. I think thats it anyway.Originally Posted by pete
I think he was with Cherry Orchard for a while, not sure. I am delighted for Reid. I think Jol is an excellent coach who is building a really young squad and Andy will thrive.

He played with Lourdes until halfway through the Under 11's when the team disbanded then he joined the Orchard.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
