    Consolation prize for Kenny

    Consolation prize for Kenny

Kildare County skipper Ray Kenny has admitted that he was delighted to be named on the eircom First Division team of the season, although the accolade was scant consolation after the Thoroughbreds’ failure to gain promotion to the top flight.

Despite finishing fourth in the First Division last season, Kenny is the sole representative from Kildare on the team of the season with four from Finn Harps, three from Bray Wanderers, two from UCD and one from Sligo Rovers making up the line up.

Can't speak for the Zayed/Charles incidents, but one of our own players i.e. James Igwilo came in for an ill mannered comment last year during a game by some yob. The fans were not happy about it and the incident was reported to the club, who in turn approached the individual and handled the situation and apologies were made all around. Kildare fans, IMO, should not be considered racist because of a few morons. I'd suggest that anyone who visits Station Rd E-mail the clubs board if racist comments are made to anyone. There is no place for that crap in todays society.
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

The reason why Charles and Zayed got so much stick from the fans has NOTHING to do with racism. It was because of an incident at the end of he previous season where Zayed kicked Ray Kenny who reacted, this started a melee during which Wesley Charles headbutted Philly Hughes. In the end three Kildare players and Charles where sent off, we lost the game and our playoff spot. Thats why these players get stick.

Also there has NEVER been any racist chanting from any of our supporters at any game, against anyone. James Igwilio was not abused by a member of the supporters. This incident happened between two suporters. This was viewed so seriously that the board of the club itself carried out an investigation.
