Given Longford's record in cup competitions, their price seems generous.
Of course this is an international competition, so maybe the price is a bit mean?.....![]()
10/1 is great odds for Longford.
Yup 10/1 on Longford would be a nice bet.. especially if they got in a group with two of the northern teams.. when is the group draw anyway?
Lads, are you able to get these odds on the websites of these bookies? Furthermore can you place bets now? I can't find Setanta Cup offers on PP, gamebookers or Boylesports

No FAI Cup odds on Boyle yet ??Originally Posted by holidaysong
Nope was wondering that myself... They give the best price of 6/1 I have found on Dundalk though for the first division title..Originally Posted by dcfcsteve
Check out Laddies for some decent bets on the EL. Their handicap betting is interesting:
Shelbourne (Scratch) 8/1
Cork City (+4 points) 8/1
Bohemians (+7 points) 8/1
Drogheda (+14 points) 8/1
Waterford (+20 points) 8/1
Longford (+20 points) 8/1
Derry (+25 points) 8/1
Shamrock Rovers (+25 points) 8/1
St Pats (+25 points) 8/1
UCD (+31 points) 8/1
Finn Harps (+31 points) 8/1
Bray Wanderers (+38 points) 8/1
Even with that handicap I've no quams taking 8/1 on Shels, with a saver on Longford.

Im going to take a trip to Belfast myself to watch the games.
Never support any other team usually but I hope Cork win it....Would never wish any Irish league team well and despise $hels and Longford.

how many of the clubs taking part are actually taking it seriously ???? i know we are but europe is more of a focus for shels and the northern teams will be strong with the fact that they are in the flow of their season compared to us.
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
That is a bet and a half. We finished 26 points behind Shels last season, it can only get better IMO.Originally Posted by Coltron
Actually, they have to beat all the handicaps is it? If so forget it. BTW, I wouldn't put any bet on if thats the case, I can't see Shels beaten all 11 handicaps.
Shels are definitely taking it seriously, at 150,000 for the winner everyone will take it very very seriously.Originally Posted by max power
I reckon all the teams involved will take the Setanta Cup seriously because of the money involved.
I doubt it, I'd say it's just a bet that e.g. Bohs will finish less than seven points off the top.Originally Posted by eirebhoy

But then would Shels be 8/1?Originally Posted by Schumi
BTW, Ladbrokes have slightly better odds for the Eircom league clubs in the Setanta cup.
Shelbourne 5/2
Cork City 11/4
Glentoran 7/2
Linfield 7/2
Portadown 7/1
Longford 12/1
They have to beat all the handicaps. For example, take last years league table and add all the handicaps to it and whoever is on top then wins.

True, you must have to beat each team's handicap, liable to get a bit confusing!Originally Posted by eirebhoy
