Correct-a-mundo! Except they had three 0-0s against Standard Liege, Maccabi Petah Tikva and Aarau, as well as a 0-2 defeat at home to FC Koeln.

Still waiting for correct answers to 2 and 3 (the latter is quite surprising.)

Check out the big brain on joe! Scotland is correct (BTW, LOI clubs have conceded 75 goals against Scottish clubs....)

Answer 2 is incorrect, Rovers' wins over Odra Wodzislaw were the first for an Irish club against Polish opponents, to the best of my knowledge. Clue: Stu was fairly close to the answer.

I have this sneaking suspicion it's Cyprus.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

Well played, that man! Six wins in all, here's hoping Derry make it seven.

Sh*te, I should have posted one, shouldn't I? Right, a handy one and a tough one.

Who was the last League of Ireland player capped before Glen Crowe?

Who is the oldest player in the League of Ireland to play a competitive European club competition match? (Champions League, Uefa, Inter-toto, CWC, Intercity Fairs, Super Cup...). He was the oldest man in Europe to do so at the time, and I reckon that he still might be.

    1) Pat Byrne (for Ireland anyway) as you didn't say for Ireland I'd say Mbabazi for Uganda or John for Trinidad & Tobago have loads of recent caps
    2) Was it Jim Grace?

Ooops, should have out that in, now, shouldn't I. Yes, Pat Byrne, then of Shamrock Rovers. I don't know about players representing other nations, anyone know, please start another thread here, as I'd like to find out

Sorry, try again on that one.

Al Finucane? Retired aged 46 anyway - was playing for Limerick until a few years previously?

Al Finucane it was, with the Blues against Bordeaux. I think that the record is still the European one, though I haven't checked in a while.

Right, suppose I should put one up so. This is courtersy of CollegeTillIDie -

Name four players to have played League of Ireland who also played in the 1966 World Cup Final.

Cork fans shouldn't find this too hard...

Screw this, I want to know who the others are, and people seem to have forgotten to answer it.

Bobby Charlton was one, I think. Was Cohen, of Everton at the time, one of the others?

Uwe Seeler turned out for Cork Celtic in the late seventies, I believe.

Just Googled it, http://www.google.ie/search?q=cache:...hl=en&ie=UTF-8 would seem (to this non-German-speaker) to confirm that he did.

23.4.1978 Einsatz für Cork Celtic FC im Ligaspiel der irischen Premier Divison gegen Shamrock Rovers FC (2:6, 2 Tore)

That's three of them alright. One more...

Incidentally, that German bit translates as "Appearance for Cork Celtic FC in an Irish Premier Division league game against Shamrock Rovers (lost 2-6, scored twice)

Thr fourth, incidentally, is Geoff Hurst, who played about three games for Cork (can't remember which one) in the late 70s.

I fully realise that I haven't answered a question recently, or even been on the site to do so, but I just have to ask this one.

Q: Before the former Yugoslavia broke up into Serbia, Croatia etc, who did they play their last international against and what was the score?
    Munster 33-6 Gloucester

And for the Yugoslavia one - was it a 3-1 or 4-1 away win over Austria in Euro '92 qualifying?
