In terms of senior international competitions, I think it was the 1970 World cup Finals (memories of Peter Brackley on a dodgy video of the tournament saying "An new system of coloured cards has been introduced... this time it's a Yellow!")

    Otherwise, I don't know.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

That's probably right actually - yer man Rattin was just pointed off the pitch against England rather than red-carded.

    Not by a mile.
One hint: it was after the '92 Euros had been played.
Anyone who saw the documentary on RTÉ a few weeks back would know the answer to this one.

Yeah, I remember watching that alright - maybe Austria was the last competitive game they played in their group. Don't know that one so...

The late, great Lawrie Cunningham (WBA, Real Madrid and Wimbledon amongst others)

Gustavo, i think u could be right. Now i think of it Cunningham was the first to get England honours (U21 i think) and Anderson was first full international. Thanks.
