Oh, sorry. Didn't read the question properly. Sunderland got 19 points by the way.

Name the man with the best goals per minutes played ratio for the Republic Of Ireland senior team?
The distinction actually belongs ( <--- only pedants start sentences with this phrase) to Jimmy White of Bohemians, who scored two goals in Ireland's 4-2 win against Belgium in 1934. It was his only cap, and he finished his international career with an impressive average of two goals per game.

Erm...that'll teach me to be a smart-ass. White's is certainly a goals PER GAME record, but it's fairly safe to assume that Barrett's is the goals per minute record.

Sheridan - you're certainly wrong on the year - no idea on the player. I do know we played Belgium in 1934 at Dalyer in a world cup qualifer but drew 4-4 with Paddy Moore scoring all 4. Led the Dutch 2-1 in Amsterdam with 20 minutes to go too but lost and missed on a trip to Italy. Legend has it Paddy drank 2 pints of Guinness in the Dalymount bar at half time ignoring the team talk.

We did beat Belgium away in 28 and 30 and by 4-2 in one of those games - no idea of the goalscorers but would have the info at home. We also met Belgium in 1929 in Dublin.

Hi Gary - you're right as usual. The game in question took place on the 12th of February 1928, and the scorers, according to kickin, were Jimmy White of Bohemians (who definitely scored two goals in this, his only international), Billy Lacey of Shelbourne and Jack Sullivan of Fordsons.

Kerotan of Slovenia were relegated to Division 5 after 11 games of their 33 game campaign. At this stage, after initial points deductions, they had three points. If you penalise them 3 points per game they subsequently had to forfeit, that gives them -63 points.

    Any good?
