    Carrigaline's all-weather pitch

Whats the situation with Carrigaline and their all-weather pitch facility?

Seems they have not being allowed to use it for Munster Senior, Junior league games this season.

I heard there is some dispute with registering the pitch before the season began and some fee of €6,000 being demanded by the MFA!

They have been using there grass pitch, but have had flooding problems which was the reason for investing in an all-weather standard pitch, some investment by the club who are a real part of the community.

Is this the same for other teams with all-weather pitches, Blarney, Mayfield, Midleton.........!

    Anyone in the know?

This is only a problem of late. They have played matches on it already this season.

as far as I know they have to get it calibrated or something along those lines, a company was organised to come over from England and the cork clubs got together to strike a deal because there was a few involved that needed it done but some where along the line this deal fell true !! I think then that blarney went away and got it done by some other crowd and maybe douglas hall

I heard they failed some test on it regarding the bounce of the ball etc. Its supposed to be taking up now and some extra layers of whatever they use put under the main grass carpet.. was talking to one of their junior players and he said one of the penalty spots came up and it was just tarmac underneath . Should have some sort of underlay .
