Signed Lohan from Waterford - Final 4 NCAA this year as a sophomore. Won an ITF event a few weeks ago. Looks to be easily the most talented Tennis player this country has ever produced. Still two more years of college to go.

Edit - nice roundup of the lads Acorn - still think McGee has a big year in him! Barry is a streaky player - good on his A game - atrocious if not. I haven't seen enough of O'Hare but he has been to 3 or 4 challenger finals this year , won. 25k ITF event and won a challenger at the back end of 2015 - his results are pretty impressive and consistent

    Bump!

So it's Venus v Serena and Nadal v Federer in the Australian Open finals.

Surely there's never been an older finals quartet?

Whatever about the women's final - the Federer / Nadal final was magnificent.

I just love the way age has taken 5% of the power but none of the guile and class especially from Federer - and what we were left with was a classic game of tennis - that didn't last 5 plus hours long and had no long 20 + shot rallies until late in the 5th when the tension was at its highest. If only every Sunday morning was like that!

Who's going to replace these players when they retire? It seems like the young up and coming people never take that next step. I wonder if there will be a lack of story lines like in golf?

Delighted Fed won. But tennis leaves me cold these days. Too much to wonder about Nadal and his ilk.
DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?

Same as most sports these days. Love Murrays attitude to the scandals, says all the right things, have always loved Federer's style, I'd have massive concerns about Djokovic and flat out don't believe that Nadal is clean.

Concerns about Djokovic's ability or attitude?

Kerber, Konta and Halep already gone. Women's tennis is in brutal shape.
Maria did look nice in that outfit tho. Not my type really.

Sharapova in another battle now against Timea Babos of Hungary. Had to turn the TV down the screeching out of the two of them. It's 3-3 second set and Babos took the first in a breaker .

Meanwhile here is an interesting article about Meldonium

Noticed a lot of that screeching during wimbledon, very distracting. do the authorities not care anymore about this, as its a big turn off

That was a very strange article from a strange chick IMO.

So Woz loses to Makarova and all she wants to do after the match is bitch and moan about Maria playing on center court over her. Caroline. You stink. Get over yourself.

I can understand the frustration by clean athletes being overshadowed by the cheats.
