As for Keane's transfer dealings so far I think only Jones has worked out for him and I noticed that Halford went to Charlton (that was a waste of money) yesterday and Cole joined Burnley on loan. I would expect a big clear out at Sunderland at the end of the season if they stay up
i was a doubter too mcshels but his last few performances for ireland particularly in prague changed my mind completely , he is excellent , it is now down to keane to fit him into the team
Was he crazy!! Yeah , in a very special way , an Irishman.

I really like Andy Reid and watched with great interest his progress at Notts Forest. I thought he was the real deal. Trouble is he didn't succeed in the Premiership at SPurs. Why do people think he might make it at Sunderland? I hope he does, not for Sunderland's sake, but his own and Ireland's sake.

He didn't struggle last season whenever he played, he was usually Charlton's best player. He's usually one of Ireland's best players whenever he plays too. Judging by his performance against Germany I'd say we've a few players playing in England that'd be rated a lot higher if they were playing in Spain or Italy. The time they get on the ball over there is like night and day compared to Britain and Ireland.

I think Spurs played him on the left wing and it did not suit him there in my opinion he is best either in the middle or on the right of midfield where he can cut inside and shoot or pass.

I genuinely hope Reid males it at Sunderland for Irelands cause no other reason. I am the same when it comes to all Irish players as Im sure we all are.

But although as he was our best player against Germany in Croker the next game against Cyprus he was found wanting. I would love to see him back to the form he showed when he was at Forest when he played his best football in his career t date

That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Very exciting player and one that i am a big big fan of. His perfomance against Germany in the last campaign was the best performance by an Irish player during the campaign. Ufortunatly he is just too injury prone. IMO he is too good for the Championshp, but not quite good enough for the Premiership

How good does one have to be to be "good enough for the Premiership"?

John O'Shea has played many games in the Champions League , he must be a cut above Reid in that case

But he was carrying an injury during that game. A fit Andy Reid is crucial to our hopes of qualifying for the World Cup. He gives us options that no other senior player currently gives us. If he can stay injury free for the next few years I believe his class will show and he can make it in the Premiership.
My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method, is love. I love you Sheriff Truman.

well you can look at it two ways i guess. If nothing players like Titus Bramble for example are Premiership player then Reid certainly should be one. I think he is very similar to how Huckerby was a few easons back. He would gut th opposition in the Championship but could not make the step up to the Premiership. If Reod stays fit id be very confident he will make it, but thats a very big if

I'm interested as to how Sunderland are gonna play him. He's not a winger in the truest sense and Sunderland have been playing five accross the middle quite a bit this year.. It all revovles around Jones and I don't think they're they're gonna play Reid just off Jones in a 433/451... He may well be brought in to replace Yorke. I'd say Eirebhoy might get his wish and we'll see Reid playing in a deep lying holding/playmaker role flanked by two grafters (Whitehead etc)... Interesting to say the least
I pity the fool!.... But suggest ways that he might improve himself.

A fit Andy Reid is more than good enough for the premiership if played in a central role. I can't believe anyone could state otherwise. They must have missed all his appearances for Charlton for the two months at the start of last season before he got injured when he was by far their best player (yes better than 17 million Darren Bent).

And he's way better than Huckerby who is w**k.

I would not even compare him to Huckerby, totally different players.

I'd say he'll take the place of Yorke. Anyway, I can't see Reid playing out on the left with Richardson in the centre. Richardson would be much better suited to the left than Reid.
