When Andy did eventually retire to bed in the early hours it is rumoured there was a horses head in there waiting for him.
Seems a bit severe being frozen out of the team for over a year for a sing song. I wonder what the sing song went like.
Trap: Whatza matta you? Hey. Gotta no respect. What-a you t'ink you do? Why you look so sad? It's a nota so bad. You losa ya place.
Andy Reid: Ah shuttupa ya face.

I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Not looking good for Andy.

I just cannot understand that at all. He's one of the form players in the PREMIERSHIP. Don't get me wrong, within reason i think its important for managers to stick to their principles.
But i didn't think the incident last year would be of sufficient seriousness to warrant his exclusion for this long (in Trap's mind), but maybe i'm not remembering it correctly? Can someone remind me what exactly happened? (i would traawl back through the previous 52 pages but i'm at work and time is tight!)
enough is enough this is pathetic from the manager and Brady!!!!
Rumour is (and I stress rumour) that after giving a curfew Trap came down around half an hour later to find Andy a few other still drinking and singing. He gave them a final warning only to come back down a little later to find it still going on. This caused him to lose his rag a bit and rather foolishly Andy took it upon himself to give a few verbals back. This enraged Trap further so he tw@tted Andy over the head with a rolled up copy of Gazetta Del Sport!
Trap then decided he'd make an example of Andy questioning his authority to lay down a marker.
As I say this is pure conjecture but is what the most recent printed account of it read a few weeks ago in one of the papers (Indo or Herald I think).
It's gone on long enough at this stage if true and I'd have him in the squad in a heartbeat on current form. He could even be brought in as cover on the flanks at the moment if he's not Trap's style of player in the centre.
Your exactly right. I've lost all respect for Brady since he got this job. Seems like he's there for the easy buck, nice little add on to his Arsenal wages. He obviously doesn't want to stand up for his principles and rock the boat with Trap. What exactly is he there for anyway, Trap already has a translator doesn't he?

Brady always commented about Reid's weight when he use to be on the rte panel. well he has since lost the weight and is playing better than S Ireland at the moment. Yet they are mad to get Ireland back and wont give Reid ( who has publicly begged to come back) a chance...Madness
I want Reid back in the squad as much as anyone but in this case I can see the thinking. Reid has been playing brilliantly on left of midfield this season where as Rowlands is a center midfielder. Personally I think Reid is one of the best midfielders we have but if Trap only sees him as a wide player then fair enough. I would be much more annoyed at this stage if another winger was brought in as a replacement ahead of him
Its really not that complicated!!!

It's never too late, it just usually doesn't happen here at foot.ie. Most of us are far too stubborn so we go about exploring another avenue to prove our self-knowingly dodgy post!!
Don't think it's happened with an apology. Think he just said he was desperate to get back into contention or something. He was in the squad and ready to come on in the match after it though so it seems to have been a bit of a delayed reaction from Trap.

Hahaha. I never thought of doing that!

Am I alone in wishing that Liam Miller was leading the sing song that night instead of Andy?
Its completely ridiculus that reid has again been overlooked.
Always thought he was good enough to be named in the squad. But on his recent club preformances, he is now good enough to start for us in the first 11.
To be overlooked again is shameful treatment from Trapp. Thought with his experience, he would have been a better manager than that.
I think this proves what many have suspected all along and the decision to leave out Reid has nothing to do with tactics/formation/not fitting into a system etc etc, that has been used to defend his actions but purely because he can't let whatever happened in Mainz go, for the good of the team and for our qualification hopes. Pretty sad really.
