Decent game given its our first and Limerick played 120 minutes over the weekend. Shane Treacy will destroy the first division this season. Greet player.

It finished 7-0, you'd worry Waterford have a boy doing a man's job.

Don't Waterford have a bit of history for getting hammered in pre-season? Means very little at this stage.

    Cabo any good?

As a fan of First Division Champions 2016 Limerick FC I would appreciate the opinions of any longford fans who were at both games.

Wasn't there myself, looks like L.T.F.C. was going judging by his post above so he may be able to assist. Either way I doubt there'll be anything for you lot to be unduly worried about.

Was impressed by Limerick the other night, a top goalkeeper in Hall. Some good passers of the ball and in Shane Tracy perhaps the best player in the first division. Wasn't at the Cabo game tonight so hopefully LTFC can give you the news that they are sh1te and Limerick will walk to the title 😂

Athlone weren't up to much against Pats anyway although David Cassidy is a great player at that level

Pats won 2-0 with Byrne and Graham Kelly scoring

Is Cassidy with Athlone now? I must have missed that one. Always liked him and would have taken him at LTFC even now. Fair play to him for taking on a difficult role as the experienced head in their squad.

I was quite impressed with this McEleney lad who made his competitive debut for Dundalk tonight. He might have a future in the game.

Wouldn't judge anything of tonight's game. Pointless playing a top and settled premier side when half the squad isn't even signed yet. It's the same every preseason we play top premier sides and get a pasting. Can't judge anything off preseason at all in 2012 we get hammered in a few preseason games then went on to lose out on promotion in the final play off game.

Cork had a near full strength team starting whereas we'd a makeshift starting 11. From our starting 11 I think just 4 will be regular starters. And in the second half team to my knowledge four are announced signings could be wrong and of those four, two are U19s players.

Our game against Longford in a couple of weeks will be a test for both sides and should an interesting game.

    Our team tonight.

Starting 11: Burns (New signing - Previous Waterford United & Cork), Reidy (Re-signed former U19s), Mackay (Re-signed former U19s), Garabaldi (Trialist), Dermondy (New signing - Previous Wexford), Osario (Trialist), Murphy (Re-signed - Former Cork U19s), David O Leary (Trialist), O Connor (Re-signed - Currently U19s), Norton (Trialist), Unnamed Striker (Trialist).

Bench: Bulter (New signing - Currently U19s), McGuire (New U19s player), Birdsall (Re-signed), O'Brien (Trialist), Croke (Re-signed, been injured last two years good to see the lad back to full fitness), Buckley (Re-signed - Currently U19s).

This signed players weren't in the squad at all: McAlevey (Re-signed - Previously Cork U19s), Broaders, (New Signing - Previously Wexford), Chambers (New Signing - Previously Bray), Gorman (New Signing - Previous Athlone), Byrne (New signing - Previous Athlone), Roddy Jr (New signing)
