Longford are too low, Bray too high (sorry! ), think we're better equipped for the Premier than Harps (going purely on the two Cup runs - us beating Cork and drawing with Drogs twice, Harps getting hammered by Shels).

Very hard to see anyone challenging Shels and Cork though. I'd say there'll be a bit of a gap between second and third. I'll go with...

    1. Shels
    2. Cork
    3. Bohs
    4. Longford
    5. Drogs
    6. Derry
    7. UCD
    8. Waterford
    9. Pat's
    10. Harps
    11. Rovers
    12. Bray

I think Harps are better equipped than UCD (going purely on League placing last season - us finishing first, UCD finishing second). I would like to have seen how UCD would have done against a Shels team in Tolka Park that was flying at that stage. Cup games are one off and you shouldn't base your hopes on how you did in Cup games. Three years ago, we were top of the First Division, Shels were top of the Premier and we beat them in the Cup. Still didn't matter come the end of the season when we finished second and missed out on promotion in the play-offs. And if you want to talk about the League Cup, we reached the semi-finals only to be beaten by the eventual winners.

I can't really see any of the three promoted sides finishing in the top half, or even close to it.

For me I think it will be

    1. Shels
    2. Cork
    3. Bohs
    4. Longford
    5. Drogheda
    6. Pats
    7. Waterford
    8. Harps
    9. Derry
    10. Sham Rovers
    11. UCD
    12. Bray

True, but we did beat Cork the week after a European quarter-final, and were the better team in our home game against Drogheda when they were second in the league and had yet to collapse. Cup games are once-offs, but when you do it three times? Yez beat us to the title by a point, and head-to-head, we each won once and drew one, so the league says we're about even - not three places behind like you have us! Plus we always do poorer against poor teams and better against good teams - draws against Limerick, Monaghan, Kilkenny and Cobh (twice) cost us the title, but we won't have to play them next year...

Still, at least no-one has either of us last yet!

(Edit - until Roo69 posts at the same time as me! )

OK - first and last reflected what I want to happen rather than what I rationally think will happen ( tho' I wouldn't be too sure about rovers staying up, or even staying alive), but the rest was what I think will happen - Derry have gotten better by far since Kenny arrived, and Drogheda were nearly the most useless team I saw last season (us against DC the first two times and Pat's early on just pip them ); have no idea how they - Drogs - did so well against everyone else. Thinl UCD will do better than Harps, though I'd rather the converse.

Lads, it's far too early to be even talking about next season! So much is going to happen between now and March. Especially with us.

(yeah I'm a pesimist and I'd love to be proven wrong)

Of course this is based on current squads, so unless nothing changes between now and the season's beginning then that predictions not to be taken too seriously.
