Revenge for 2002
Since Derry won Premier in 1997 only Rovers have broken monopoly of shels, bohs & cork city in top 2.
Will anyone besides shels, bohs & cork city trio make the top 2 this season?
Only when I looked that archive on fai.ie did i realise league not as competitive as we usually think...
Pats won the league in 97/98, 98/99 and nearly won it the year of the registration feck up, they may have finished second that year, was it 2000 or 2001?Originally Posted by pete
Yeah just checked twas 2001-2002 actually and Pats finished 3rd. Add on the 15 points and they had 5 more than winners Shels. When you add Pats into that equation it's not as predictable as it looks.

Don't worry, all these teams play in red, sometimes a sleepy mind finds it hard to differentiate. It'll be interesting to see though if the usual suspects in Bohs, Cork and Shels occupy the top three or can the Drogs get in there again or even Longford seperate them. Maybe even a resurgence from Pats or Shams, or a surprise from one of the rest of us. Can't wait for the new season.Originally Posted by pete

Knew i had a point in there somewhere. In last 6 seasons only Rovers have broken the trio monopoly of the top 3.

1. Cork- just
2. Shels- very close
3. Drogs- again, challenging but will fade
4. Bohs- just behind Drogs
5. Longford- good cup runs as usual
6. Waterford- might be higher early on.
7. Derry- have a feeling they could do better than this
8. Pats- consolidation
9. Harps- as above
10. Rovers- good start until they get fed up of roddy, then drop
11. UCD- to survive, just![]()
12. Bray- not good enough.
