    No truth in this...

I wonder what the next Bunratty rumour will be?

Maybe we will try this one....
"The Bunratty back 4 and keeper have secured transfers to top junior side Fairview Rangers after keeping a clean sheet vs Avenue last Tues."

Put that out on the street there lads and see how far it travels

Newtown B have been a long way off Olympic B in recent seasons so it is good to see them sort themselves out so that the rivalry may mean something this year. I'm pretty confident we'll be there or thereabouts again this year so it'd be nice to see the derby games be real 6 pointers for a change.
leftie ... any truth to rumour olympic b have been promoted to 2nd division ... rumours going round that somebody has pulled out of second dvision and olympic being promoted as they finished 3rd last year

i think it is only olympic b but what's even stranger is that apparently lifford just started a b team this year and they go put straight into division 2. anyone else know if that's true or what the reasoning is behind it?

not having a go at olympic .... fair enough you are going up

but it does defeat purpose of promotion / relegation if clare league keep changing rules every year... as said earlier they should be trying to work out why all these teams keep pulling out of league

Well they're playing in the 2nd division shield. But then I suppose we've seen that doesn't mean much.

As for rule changing, I don't think it was a case of that more along the lines of replacing a team that dropped out with the next most eligible team. I'm sure if any team was relegated from the 2nd division last year they would've been given the place.

You are right about one thing though, something needs to be done about all the teams pulling out. Where are all the players going?

Very surprised that bunratty b pulled out. All their hard work from getting out of the third division and into the first just thrown away. Surely the team that they had last year would have had a decent chance of getting back into the first division. Bunratty are one of the biggest clubs in clare but they can't get the players to form a b team. Even the a team have lost a lot of players. What's going on at bunratty that everybody wants to leave.
As for Olympic they should have stayed in the third division and battled it out to win the league or at least to win promotion on merit. Coming 3rd in the league and then losing a play off final only to have promotion given to them by default is no achievment. They''ll most likely struggle in the 2nd division anyway seeing as how they were'nt able to win a place in the division on the field.

lifford are supposed to be playing 2nd division shield and playing in the 3rd division.
i think lifford asked to play 2nd div shield and this suited clare league.
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

sounds a bit strange when 3rd division shield also had 2-4 teams pulling out of competion

it would be a nice one if lifford won 2nd division shield & then had to paly in third division.... it makes a joke of shield & clare league

Sorry, I was going on second hand information and really just wanted clarification so I could reconfirm my source is a muppet. Sounds like they are doing well in it too judging by the result against Cooraclare.

So who is in the 2nd division then? Just when I was starting to get to grips with all the 3rd division pitch location they go and do this to us.
