The Wesley Web hasnt always been just for Shannon Teams, I remember when Star Rovers used to play in it when it was held in the two pitches that Sennan's rugby team play in now. Im almost sure that there was also another 1 or 2 teams from Limerick in it also. By bringing back a couple of Limerick teams it might make the tournament more desirable to win. Teams like newtown would be able to use it as a gauge to see how far behind the Limerick league they are.

You ure mixing the Wesley Webb up with the Park tournament. The park tournament had a mixture of Clare league and Limerick teams involved.

It was the Park tournament that had Limerick teams involved. The Wesley Webb has always been the local teams only

    Lifford B team???

Question for you "The Boss". Is there any truth that Lifford will be entering a "B" team for the coming season?

I believe all Shannon pitches are closed at present, but for different reasons.Newtwown and Rangers are working on theirs in the close season ,I think the others are let grow wild to facilitate the local birds and wild animals. If you do this you get a grant from the Department of the Environement as proposed by the Green Party.

Fine but if the Clare League are so adamant that teams in Clare play in Clare, except those already out(FAI ruling),then why dont they and the Clare Referess insist on only Clare referees officiating in Clare???

Because its a Limerick based team that runs the tournament. The Clare league cant stop newtown and shannon olympic playing in the tournament, and anyway who cares where the refs are from its just a friendly tournament I doubt if the refs have any interest in who wins it, so they're not biased.

how many wesley matches have you watched were limerick teams are playing clare teams .... all major decisions seem to go way of limerick based teams ..

Seriously why would limerick refs care who wins the wesley web. The 2 limerick teams esp park usually win the tournament because they're better than rineanna, newtown and olympic. Its not a conspiracy against clare based teams, the refs get paid no matter who wins. What decisions are you talking about where the refs have blatantly ruled in favour of the limerick based teams?

    standard

this sums up the standard of clare soccer for me when ye keep harping on about this webb tournament,it prob has alot of sentimental value to ye as a tournament but as regards a trophy to win iv never heard of it,is it any wonder yer best players leave for a higher standard in the limerick league,[dave o grady daryl eades davey wall mike omalley scalesy seamie lawlor nabs just to name a few ]

I dont remember anybody trying to pretend that the standard of the clare league is very high. Everyone acknowledges that the limerick league is at a higher standard, and if you look back over the previous posts you'll read about how poor the standard of refs and pitches are. So apart from stating the obvious I dont really see what point your trying to make.

Would you not start a thread yourself as everything everyone else says seems to up set your sensitive nature...or do u get out of the wrong side of the bed everyday on purpose??What is the case at the moment doesnt have to continue that way forever so discussion allows for views to be expressed which may result in improvement. This website allows a foruem for discussion which may help with this much sought after improvement.

Hey magic man, tell it as it happened,Limerick clubs namely PIKE ROVERS came out and poached these players by correctly offering them a better standard of football and also by PAYING them, you can call it travel allowances if you like BUT Pike pay the players, noboby in Clare gets paid, speaking of Pike they have no schoolboy set-up and only a handfull are out and out Pike players,For Pike's sake Pat Mul had better keep chasing cause when he stops chasing i'm afraid Pike are heading for lean yours, then Magic man the odds are you will disappear
