Bad idea paying people money to play, just makes the other players jealous and gives the player being paid a big head. Also right back isn't exactly the most influential position on the pitch. Waste of money.Originally Posted by Nibzer

bunratty will probably have a full team tomorrow night??????????
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.
believe it or not because the Clare League is not an amateur league they have no say in the matter. The constitution of the league would have to be changed to state it and all its clubs would have to be amateurOriginally Posted by old boy
Players were getting paid in the Clare league for along time before our freind arrived.I recently heard about a player turning down fifty Euro a game for a once off signing on fee.For legal reasons and tax implications this person will remain nameless. Clubs in Clare are pulling in nice money on membership draws and lotteries , there is money to be given and if your good enough I say fair play and take it.
[QUOTE=CLIFFORD]say not clifford .. bunratty only had bare 11 on sunday... just goes to show how loyal some of their players are and also says a lot about their personalities... at least Dave hogan stayed with them.... like all good skippers staying with their sinking ship.... i hope that they stay up though...they have excellent facilities and also they like to play soccer and can ya imagine if they went down and olympic went up... would we ever hear the end of it??? I WONDER??Originally Posted by Murphman

Who in their right mind would raise money to pay players of the standard in the Clare League??Which Clubs " on membership draws and lotteries."are pulling in nice money??Id like to know to ask them how to do it??Who was paid money in the past??Or at least which clubs were paying,if you cant say which players for fear they would have to become tax exiles.??Originally Posted by First
thats ridiculous, paying them for what???? to win local trophies is it, cause they sure as hell won't win any provinicial or national trophies
