Kilkishen and Mountshannon, if Mountshannon win they will be promoted!
Sorry Madmick alot of work to do, but yip we lost 1-0 best of luck to AVE B hope they go all the way and win the cup it would be a good way for a few off their lads to sign off on, just have to get on with the job inhand and get up to the premierOriginally Posted by MadMick
Rats B are devasted after leaving more points behind yesterday. Nothing seems to have gone our way and after leading twice yesterday still failed to hold on....
One would wonder though why the ref played 4 and a half minutes of injury time after tellin the Bunratty bench there would be 2 mins at the end of the 90. Seems to be the story of the season.
Anyway no point in sob stories and credit to Mntshn for the was they battled all the way through.

Was in Bridgetown yesterday and saw Bridge Celtic A have a very easy match against a very under strength Kilmaley. Stayed around to watch Bridge B v Kilkishen B. This was a better match than the first one. Kilkishen dominated the first half and only for poor finishing should have been more than 0-1 at half time. Bridge B came back into match in second half and with 15 minutes left in match. Kilkishen player than sent off for protesting about goal then Kilkishen manager then got players to walk off pitch and match ended. Anyone hear of this happening at a match before? I prsume due to the enumber of team pulling out of Clare league Kilkishen will just get a fine and Bridge will get the points.
If Manager's did this everytime they did not like a decision we would never finish a game, I know the Refs make mistakes but what happened to taking it on the chin and getting on with the game, we all know you cannot change their minds, sometimes I believe we donot help ourselves!Originally Posted by gaffer
From what I heard - and saw- one of the Kilkishen players had to take it on the chin quite literally. The inside of his mouth is all torn and quite a bruise on his chin from an elbow he received in the first half. The ref's reaction to this was to ask what he was after doing to himself. The same player was also punched in the face later in the game. This time the offender was booked. Surely for punching someone in the face, if the ref sees enough to warrant a booking, a red card should be automatic? Did you see either of those incidents gaffer. I was not at the match just saw the results of it yesterday evening when I met the player in question. The reason I ask whether you saw it is I was wondering if it was as blatant as was described to me?Originally Posted by MadMick
are you sure about that? If Mountshannon win they will be on 35 points. Either Olympic or Bridge Celtic are capable of getting to 39 points. Allowing for the fact that they have to play each other, If they were to draw and each win all other games, they would both be on 37, leaving Mountshannon in third. Kilkishen are also capable of overtaking Mountshaqnnon, though if Mountshannon win on Wednesday, Kilkishen can only reach 35 which would put them level with Mountshannon. Corofin can currently reach 34 points so they will not have given up hope either and Tulla can get to 33 so I would say both of them will be hoping for a draw or an away win. There are a lot of possibilities yet, including Bunratty B avoiding the drop if they can take Bridge Celtic this week.Originally Posted by MadMick
You are correct in Mathmatical terms, but 35 will end in the top 2, If I said here is 35 points to you you would snap of my hand!!!Originally Posted by oldspice
The number 9 playing for Bridge Celtic B was a disgrace & should have been sent off. He even threatened to kill one of his own players. He threw an elbow and a punch off the ball on the same player which the ref saw & didn't send the player off. Kilkishen dominated the game pretty much throughout & the goal that Bridge Celtic got was after a blatant trip on the last defender which the ref could not have missed yet he allowed the goal. When he was questioned about the decision he sent off the player that questioned him.
Yet he felt that punching somebody in the face only warranted a yellow card.
Outside of this Bridge Celtic hardly had a chance during the match.
All of this along with numerous other flashpoints & bad decisions during the game convinced the Kilkishen management that enough was enough & it was fairly obvious that the game wasn't being officiated in a fair manner so they pulled the team out of the match.
Any team in the division will tell you that Kilkishen B when they have their full squad are a match for most teams in the division & always play a fair game.
Ask around what people think of Bridge Celtic B & you will not get the same answer.
The ref is from the area & should not have been in charge of that match in the 1st place
If only you could!!!!Originally Posted by MadMick
Surely, having a ref in charge of games involving the team closest to him should not be allowed. If I'm correct, this is the second time this season (at least) that this ref has officiated games between Kilkishen B and Bridge Celtic B, and each time in Bridgetown. He also officiated between Bridge Celtic A and Kilkishen A earlier in the season (again in Bridgetown) and I have to say on that occasion he was an absolute disgrace. Biased doesn't even begin to describe it!!!Originally Posted by Pauliwallnuts

I would agree that a ref should not be allow to do a game with the team closest to him. The number nine you mention from the bridge did get book for raising his arm, should be a red card if the ref followed the rule book. But I did see a Kilkishen player throw a thump off the ball and the ref took no action. We have played Bridge B twise this season and had no problems with them. At the end of it I dont think the Kilkishen players should have walked off the field no matter how bad the ref was, in a game they would have won in my option.
Too flamin right "Biased doesn't even begin to describe it" !!Originally Posted by oldspice

olympic cup game was good game to watch. both teams playing football. rare in clare soccer. few of them out last night, ****ed off that tage beat burren. you'd think that a squad that have the bones of five hundred clare soccer medals between them would be delighted to be in semi and also get promoted to first division. Avenue a were shocking???? as for newmarket they turned up with 10 players and ended game with 8. bridge must be delighted????
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

What do you base your option on Bridge Celtic B are not in the same division as Avenue B. Unless they played each other in the cup. But I think Bridge lost to Newmarket B in that.
