    Premier league

Two surprise results last night. Makes it interesting to the finish.
Newmarket and Bridge both felt very hard done by to lose by all accounts. When youre luck is out....Still plenty of twists and turns before the end of season. Every game seems to be very tight at the moment.Safe bet to say nearly every game will be decided by the one goal.

    Predictions for sun
    Bridge Celtic vs Cratloe draw
    Newmarket to beat Rineanna
    Newtown to beat Bridge Utd
    Lifford to beat avenue
    Avenue b to beat inch
    Corofin to beat Mountshannon

Great chance for Newtown to showcase their facilities to the FAI & a chance for the locals to see first hand the calibre of player representing the country.
Is there any local players involved?
How is the pitch looking? Will this effect the Premier match at 4pm?
you are only a loser when you stop trying. Playing sport does not build character, it reveals it.

    Clare Cup 3rd Round
Lees Road Pitch 2: Lifford A V Avenue United A

    Clare Cup ¼ Finals

    O`Briensbridge: Bridge Celtic A V Rock Rovers

I would expect the games in Lee's Rd will be switched to Doora...not sure of this though.
The 2 outstanding 3rd round games eventually went ahead this weekend with both Avenue teams winning through to the 1/4 finals Avenue A beat a much hyped Lifford, whilst the Avenue B team accounted for Inch Crusaders 1-0. What chance the two teams still meeting each other?

Just out of curiosity, who was the referee for this game? and did he have assistants?
If I am not mistaken 3 Clare League referee's were chosen to officiate the Munster Youths Cup semi final between Wembley Rovers and Cork City in Limerick this sunday but the League refused to release them as the fixtures for this weekend had already been set. As another member has quite rightly suggested that Newtown had a grat opportunity to showcase their facilities to the FAI, surely our referee's should have been given their chance to show their abilities (or lack of) to the Munster FA. Is this just another case of politics within the Clare League.

Apparently it is felt that theleague has to be over quickly,I dont know why,and therefore no Clare refs were made availablefor either of both these prestigous games. It just baffles me!!!!

Games on last day of the season!

    Lifford v Newmarket Celtic
    Newtown v Bridge Celtic
    Cratloe v Bunratty
    Mountshannon v Rineanna Rovers
    Bridge United v Avenue United

Would be great if the title race and relegation battles go down to the last day but Avenue are playing well at the moment and look to be strong favourites.

isnt it great to see such a lack of comments from the lifford lads on such a bleak bleak tuesday for them! also i would just like to thank the clare league for once again trying to ruin or chances of winning something with there very harsh fixtures dates! played huge cup game versus lifford sunday and then sheduled to play cratloe tuesday! my legs are killing me and i cant be the only one! we also have to play lifford next tuesday after newtown sunday! 2 days of a break! surely wed or thursday would be better, we asked for midweek games on a wednesday but clare league screwing us again!

It worked in yere favour last year because ye were playing teams at the end of the season who had nothing to play for and ye didn't complain.
This year ye have a tough run in but are playing well and grinding out results. Also you will notice that the teams who have more than one game left to play are the teams who are relying on Lee's Road to be open. Don't think Clare league can do anything about that!!

    Premier Lg

Avenue vs Cratloe. (Lee's Rd closed. now fixed for Thurs)
    Bridge Celtic 3 2 Bunratty

Rats now relegated to the 1 division. Last minute goal for Bridge Celtic summed up our season. We were not relegated last night as we have not been good enough over the season. Battled hard last night but the usual mistakes and missed chances cost us.
Best of luck to Bridge Celtic and well done to them. They have more or less secured safety now.

Trevor Twoomey got both our goals last night. Ricky Moate and Ger O'Connel got the 2nd and 3rd for Bridge Celtic.

Why was Less Road closed.Who Closed it and who verified this???

This baffles me.It is ok for the council to close Lees Road but it is not ok for Newtown to close Ballycasey? One set of rules for one club etc.....,Well it is not going to be the case anymore because those who are responsible for the upkeep of a pitch and bare the cost will not be told by the league or anybody else including referees when there property can be used or not!!!!!

    Anarchy rears its head?.
Though I agree with your sentiments regarding clubs trying to protect their pitches from overuse and having a say as to when their own pitches are unplayable, unless their are stringent rules and guidelines set down for this theory the loopholes are clear to see. Any club that cannot field a full team could quite easily not allow the game to go ahead stating that the pitch is not playable by contacting the travelling team.
The League have no juristiction over Lee's Road and to be honest if they did the pitches there would now be similar to Digifone Park which is in need of a break due to the amount of games played there when all other pitches were closed because of the weather.

    Evening all.

Just to let you know that Bunratty FC will be holding a Golf Classic in East Clare on Saturday 22nd April. Anyone interested in entering a team (160 euros / team of 4) or even sponsor a hole (60 euros) can let me or CousinSyl know.

    Thanks.
