The only player in Ireland he'd be interested in indeed..We'll see if anything comes of this. On a slightly related note , i.e a possible replacement centre back, we've made a bid for Danny O'Connor and Myler and are waiting on a response from Drogs

see in todays sun that it looks likely that mcgovern willmove in exchange for mark o brien of shamrock rovers hope that happens!

see mark o brien is in eleven-a-sides top five new talent to watch for next season! see below

    4. Mark O’Brien (Shamrock Rovers)

O’Brien received the perfect 20th birthday present in May when he was called up by Don Givens for the Irish under-21 side’s friendly clash with Scotland at Terryland Park. While he failed to win a debut cap on that occasion, there is still time for the former Belvedere youngster and if he continues to impress for the Hoops next season, there is little doubt that Givens will return for another look. Roddy Collins, the new Rovers manager, is keen to tie O’Brien to a new contract, but the vultures are circling, with Drogheda United and Longford Town both said to be interested in the talented midfielder. It is little surprise – combining goalscoring ability with a real combativeness in midfield, O’Brien has a bright future in the league.

Alan Mathews wants O'Brien and Roddy wants Brian McGovern so it looks as if it may happen, a good young midfielder for a centre back we haven't been using seems like a good deal for us in my opinion
