Its not just this season that I think Shaw isn't up to it. Apart from a about 10 games last season I just don't think he's as good as a lot of people make him out to be. But if he's still with us next season and bangs in 10-15 goals or gets that move across the water as mentioned in summer window gone by then I'll accept that he's a good player!
Salmo wanted to stay said it in his radio interview the other day and said it the other night. Not overly worried about rice as his legs were going and his wages are probably too big to be a bit part player. Hunt made a mistake and was dropped, Skinner made several and wasn't if this not unfair treatment I don't know what is. If Kev is gone il be gutted simply because he is so good to watch but he's being linked heavily with a return to bray afaik.
Re. Schlingermann, I wouldn't have thought that we'd be in the mix for him. After the season he has had and at his age, he surely is eyeing a move to a full time club. If, for example, Rovers go for him then Craig Hyland will probably come available and he's a more likely target for us.
Daly (Drogs), Dillon (Bohs) and Corcoran (Sligo) are possible other targets. Benson (UCD) would be another good addition but he is probably on a scholarship there.
If limerick went down could we nick Freddy Hall. Good shot stopper and comes for crosses, but will try to Neuer his way in to trouble at least once a game.
Great way to keep everyone entertained..
Re schlingerfella, I don't think any of the Dub clubs or Bray need him to be honest. They all have good enough options, unless Dundalk wanted to replace Rodgers with someone with more potential. He works for the FAI over there so we'd be a handy enough commute.

Skinner also had some good games too, as did Hunt. Their practically identical appearance record for the season shows how even they are as keepers. The travel required for Hunt though is not going to improve him and it's for the best to move him on.
Wasn't O'Connor, along with Darren Quigley, the two main players owed wages by Bray from 2013? He'd hardly be rushing to return to them then if he has any sense. But, if he is "linked heavily" then so be it!!! (Any source to this link?!)
If a contract is offered to KOC I'd safely say he'd sign it. As regards Bray rumours, I'd highly doubt he'd go back there. According to Charlie Darwin the Dub clubs don't need Schlingermann bar maybe Bohs, Bray re-signed Cherrie and Dundalk have Rogers. It could be between ourselves and Derry to snag him if he becomes available.
I'd say the forum wasn't even this active when we got promoted![]()
I'd imagine the fact that like Quigley they can't acknowledge that he's actually owed the money without getting in bother would be a bit of a sticking point all right. I'd be confident enough we could match whatever Bray can offer and at least he knows he'll get paid it with us so it's just whether it's handier for him bearing all that in mind.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Bray making big pushes for next season it seems. Cherries 2 year deal suggests that at least.
And who says we won't make the same kind of a "big push"? I said above the ambition of the club is to challenge for Europe next year. We have people involved who can invest a bit if they want to.
Some of the reaction to the news on social media is ridiculously over the top. You'd swear Cousins shot the players. Someone reckons the fans should have had a say in the decision ffs.

Saying the aim is Europe is one thing actually putting your hand in your pocket and funding it is another. I don't think people realise how much money it would take to get us into Europe. Just look at the gap between us and Bohs this season. Bohs are being linked with players like Marty Waters from Rovers and Cassidy from Bray. I don't think they are players we could attract unless huge money was thrown at them.
Everything you say is equally applicable to Bray. I'm not saying we will get there I'm just saying Bray don't have any more resources than we potentially do as far as I'm aware. We don't have a bad reputation from last year either which counts for a lot. All well and good offering lads big money but they'll be reluctant to sign if they're not sure they'll get it.

From the outside, given where we train too. Town would be far more appealing prospect to sign for I'd imagine. We have continuity not seen at any other LOI club in just about ever, in both ownership and management. Never a peep about unpaid wages and what have you. Not a notion why you'd sign for Bray after everything that happened last year, can anyone believe a thing they say about anything, really? They may well turn out to do well and build something, but all evidence points to the contrary at the moment, while on the other hand we must surely look like a club on the up.
Cherrie may have signed a 2 year contract with Bray, but will he be there in 2 years time? Bray's reputation of being unable to pay their players will have a bearing on whether KOC goes back there. If I were KOC and de Town offered €50 less than Bray I'd be signing up with the Town because at least you'd get paid every week. All this talk about whether our sponsor/board will stick their hands in their pockets? Well at least there's something in those pockets......that can't be said for Bray.
I totally agree with what you are saying about Bray lads but as we've seen players in this league rarely use their heads when it comes to contracts and will jump at even 50 quid more. Let's be realistic Bohs are a much bigger club than us as are the current top 4 I can't see us breaking into that elite just yet but if the owners of the club have ambitions to do so and they can fund it without over extending us then il he as happy as anyone
Schlingermann, like Rice, has a job with the FAI so being full time probably wouldn't suit. That said, apparently Craig Hyland is leaving us in search of first team football, so could be we get Schlingermann part time and Hyland goes back to you.
Bohs players are all on part-time or expenses. Longford could match them and training in Dublin it's much of a muchness.
Couldn't see Hyland coming back here he didn't end in great terms with cousins last time but then again he's matured a lot since then so would be expecting to walk in and claim the number 1 spot so it might appeal to him.
