    Rovers nominate "home" for licensing

    Rovers nominate "home" for licensing

Shamrock Rovers have reached agreement with Drogheda United to play their home games at United Park next season.
The announcement means Rovers have fulfilled the licensing requirement of nominating a home ground.
It is believed that Drogheda provided the same support prior to last season and it has yet to be actually confirmed that Rovers would play their games in Louth. An agreement could yet be reached to share with a Dublin club.
In the past Rovers have been forced to play "home" games as far away as Cork in September 2003 as they sought a ground-share.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

It doesn't matter where the games would be played. Santry, or the SanSiro, Saturdays in Cork, Sundays in Croker, Monday nights, or even at 4am on a Thursday in Ballybofey (if necessary), if we're playing, our fans will go and watch us, regardless of how difficult it may apparantly seem.

Finding out where we're actually playing could be the only hurdle though......
