Just read an interesting piece in today's paper about an Australian cricket player. His name is Justin L@nger. He became the highest run-scorer in Test cricket with his recent innings in Perth to give Australia the upper hand in the first test against Pakistan. L@nger smashed 181 not-out as the Aussies finished the opening day on 357 for eight. L@nger passed the legendary Brian Lara to become the most prolific batsman in the calender year.
It is believed that approximately 40% of Australians claim to have Irish descent. I was just wondering does anyone know about this Justin L@nger. Does he have Irish connections, and in particular, does he have any connection to Cork? There's a saying that there is a lot in a name. With a name like that, the Cork hurling selectors may be half-considering recruiting him for the coming year. With all the money Setanta is going to make for the Cork County Board, they can surely afford to recruit this sensational batsman. Maybe he can replace Donal Og Cusack in goals. Then young Donal might be glad to appear on a DVD next time Setanta come calling.
