    Cork Cricket Player?

Just read an interesting piece in today's paper about an Australian cricket player. His name is Justin L@nger. He became the highest run-scorer in Test cricket with his recent innings in Perth to give Australia the upper hand in the first test against Pakistan. L@nger smashed 181 not-out as the Aussies finished the opening day on 357 for eight. L@nger passed the legendary Brian Lara to become the most prolific batsman in the calender year.

It is believed that approximately 40% of Australians claim to have Irish descent. I was just wondering does anyone know about this Justin L@nger. Does he have Irish connections, and in particular, does he have any connection to Cork? There's a saying that there is a lot in a name. With a name like that, the Cork hurling selectors may be half-considering recruiting him for the coming year. With all the money Setanta is going to make for the Cork County Board, they can surely afford to recruit this sensational batsman. Maybe he can replace Donal Og Cusack in goals. Then young Donal might be glad to appear on a DVD next time Setanta come calling.

Its a tough call on whether L@nger has connections to Cork P.M, but its certainly not out of the question. An exceptional batsman, with an eye for bat and ball like most people in cork. Its hard to know how he manouveres his bat so well. Maybe eoinh, Pablo et al can explain to us how he's so adept with bat and ball? He obviously never puts his bat away and is always flicking it at different angles to see how to maximize its existence. They could do with him next season when the Cats strike back(no pun intended!). Then again, despite his name, he's probably got too much culture for that backward part of the country. Still no Sky Digical, and lads playing with sticks, rods and sausages on a daily basis. Sorry, I forgot they also like pipe too. Badly needed if you want to keep your house in order

JoeSemi, you seem to have a thing for Cats?

You have a fondness too I believe. Stories circulating that you spent the guts of 2 nights in the company Eileen and a Cat. She ran out of milk and you weren't long toppin her up! I however, have become allergic to Cats as they are a different breed. Not easy talk too
