The stand actually looks fairly impressive (if you fill in the gaps). Shame, 'cos the league needs more grounds like that. If you know what I mean...!
Just want to laugh at a pathetic club!Originally Posted by Ringo

i feel sorry for genuine Rovers fans. The board has once again lied & ****€d them over. I here a lot about Rovers history & tradition., if its to survive there needs to be huge changes at the top.
the lieing and the bullyboy tacticsfrom the rovers board has to stop now as with every passing day they are losing any part of any goodwill the other supporters ofthe other eircom league teams had for them.
even though I hate the minority of their support i feel sorry for the hardcore that have to suffer for years on end. the board should have kept quieton their plans until things were finalised. i have no sympathy for the board whatsoever.
as mentioned in another post shels should move there and have rovers as their tenants in tallaght.
a sad day for rovers.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Why? I think it'd be great if Rovers got to Tallaght but I don't see why Shels should put money towards the stadium when it doesn't suit them at all just for the sake of Rovers.Originally Posted by MARTINHO II

Sometimes if the patient is terminally ill, its time to put her out of her misery, rather than trying to keep her alive on a life-support machine.
Question - will the thousands still flock to Tallaght if Rovers get relegated?
No Elvis, Beatles or the Rolling Stones
In 1977
Rovers were always my least favourite LOI team, because they were so successful basically.
However, despite the poor behaviour of the club during the Roddy Collins fiasco I hope they get into Tallaght. They are a big part of Irish football history. On the other hand they shouldn't get favourable treatment from football authorities regarding licences/relegation etc.
The attitude of South Dublin Council is ridiculous. Every night on the news we see Dublin residents/councillors complaining about lack of leisure facilities for young people in places like Tallaght but when a chance appears to do something practical like giving Rovers a hand to finish the stadium they run a mile. They're not even being asked to give money, just extend planning permission.
Don't be surprised if some housing developer has his eye on the stadium to buy the land on the cheap to make another couple of million
I'm what? I'm ants at a picnic?
But this is part of the problem, as far as I understand it. Rovers were given that ground, which is public land, but it seems that whatever way they have gone about it, some land at least will be given into the hands of developers, for nothing, basically.Originally Posted by paudie

Kinda like a liverpool thing of the 80's and a ManU thing of the 90's....quite sad.Originally Posted by paudie

Seeing as Rovers have a 250 year lease on the property, they can still more or less call the shots as regards tenency of the ground. They are still in a decent enough position as regards a pay off from any prospective developer.Originally Posted by paudie
Except previous boards have basically hived off parts of the land from Rovers. SDCC learnt nothing about Rovers past and let them. Basically most of the €11 million investment will be to buy back the land given to SRFC!Originally Posted by joeSoap

This is only the beginning of change at rovers, my dad was talking to Liam Buckley and he said that his €12Euro deal is gonna have 2 be accepted and that Roddy Colins wont last the season!!! Its whats gonna happen

Rovers have made a monumental balls up of the entire Tallaght project. The Council are still determined to get Rovers in, but it's not going to happen until two things are removed from the agenda: our board and the property developers. The Council are working on one, we're working on the other. This is far from over.
