City would be seeded next year if the present system is kept along with Longford and shels.

I'm just taking it for granted that Shels will beat the first round opponents.

    Qualifying round 2
    seeded

    1 Galatasaray Tur 50,872 C Q2
    2 Anderlecht Bel 47,395 C Q2
    3 Rangers Sco 40,477 C Q2
    4 Dynamo Kyiv Ukr 38,870 C Q2
    5 Lokomotiv Moskva Rus 37,150 C Q2
    6 Partizan Ser 25,682 C Q2
    7 M. Haifa Isr 21,218 C Q2
    8 Brøndby Den 19,676 C Q2
    9 Steaua Rom 16,771 C Q2
    10 Ferencváros Hun 16,169 C Q2
    11 CSKA Sofia Bul 15,118 C Q2
    12 Rapid Wien Aus 14,136 C Q2
    13 Vålerenga Nor 11,666 C Q2
    14 Hajduk Split Cro 10,981 C Q2
There is a few tough teams there but I think Shels can beat some of them. Hajduk Split being the obvious one

    Qualifying round 3
    seeded

    1 Valencia Spa 120,130 C Q3
    2 Man. United Eng 108,978 C Q3
    3 Arsenal Eng 89,978 C Q3
    4 Panathinaikos Gre 68,384 C Q3
    5 Celtic Sco 63,477 C Q3
    6 Stuttgart Ger 54,601 C Q3
    7 Monaco Fra 52,146 C Q3
    8 Galatasaray Tur 50,872 C Q2
    9 Club Brugge Bel 49,395 C Q3
    10 Anderlecht Bel 47,395 C Q2
    11 Rangers Sco 40,477 C Q2
    12 Dynamo Kyiv Ukr 38,870 C Q2
    13 Sporting Por 38,750 C Q3
    14 Lokomotiv Moskva Rus 37,150 C Q2
    15 Rosenborg Nor 36,666 C Q3
    16 Wisla Pol 32,930 C Q3
There is a lot of teams there that would prove very tough opponents for Shels. Maybe Wisla Pol would be alright. How can they have the teams seeded already when some of the teams above could go on and win the competition

He has to make some assumptions. But, for the earler rounds the info is nearly correct. The teams might be slightly different. He updates the site every week as european competition progresses and leagues change.

In the UEFA Cup i would expect City to be able beat any of their opponents in their first round and in the round after their are a few teams i wouldnt be surprised if city beat.

Hopefully yee's will, but I wouldn't be too sure - you had a lot of luck in your first round this year.

Do you know if Shels financial forecasts are dependent upon European progression ? i.e. would failure to progress leave you scuppered financially ?

    Ideal scenario?

A trip to Wales for the first round and we should win there so a trip to Charleroi for the second round (seeing as we'll probably fly there no matter who we're playing! ) would do nicely.
    Perfect locations and beatable opposition.

The top two in England qualify automatically no matter who they are. 3rd and 4th place would have to win a round to qualify.

That's the team I want to avoid, it'd be a very difficult away trip and we know little to nothing about them really. Ideally, I want one of the British teams for the convinent away trip and they should be winnable ties but we've gotten to the point where we'll be favourites no matter who we face in the first round imo. Doesn't mean we'll automatically win, of course. If we do progress, I wouldn't want Split again. They'd really be out to get us and they know our game now, ideal draw despite their slightly superior co-efficent would be 13 Vålerenga Nor 11,666. They owe their co-efficent to Rosenborg really, so I'd imagine they're the weakest of the bunch in that group. If we manage to make the next round again, I'll take Rangers, gaurentee a massive crowd, easy to get to away trip and a match that on our day we could win. The only drawback would be the threat of trouble.

The away the UEFA cup draw is there's a massive chance of at least one Irish V Welsh or N Irish clash in the first round too.

Vienna would be a good enough draw -I've seen some Austrian league football and it is very poor.

Theres deffinitely going to be at least one maybe more matches involving Irish/Northern Irish/Welsh teams. Will make things more interesting as people will be more interested in seeing these matches and there should be a bit more hype about it

Charlerio is actually pretty good european base as can get to a lot of northern europe within a few hours driving. Its not a great airstrip but suits the Rebel Army purposes.

From the looks of it we'll definitely be seeded in the Qualifying round, since none of the unseeded teams can improve their points this season.

    Is this right?

Unless any of the teams on that list lose out to another team in the meantime who may have a higher co-efficient. Won't be confirmed until all entrants are known.

We will be seeded if UEFA use the same system as last season i.e they divide europe into three regions to save on travelling costs. Most of the weaker nations happen to be from the northern/western zone which means EL clubs are seeded under this system. If its a draw open to all nations in an open draw we wont be seeded.

Shels will find it hard to replicate what they did last year simply down to psycological pressure and almost any team from qualifying round two would be enormously difficult for them again, even Hadjuk Split. As for Round 3, to beat any of these teams is most definitely a bridge too far. You may think i'm being harsh but I was at the Hadjuk and Deportivo games last season and i'm a town fan. As for us, hillbillies from Timbuktu FC in the land of nod would even be a match Wisla are even strong even though they are not known very well

As much as I hate $hel$ (so last year - so what! ) I feel the players they have would have gained both experience and confidence from their excellent performance last season. expecting to beat Rangers - not too sure, anyone outside the Old Firm I'd be confident though.

I'm actually looking forward to Europe, even thought Derry are'nt involved, as EL Teams did very well last time around and it is encouraging to see.

So fair play to them for making an aul pessimist have some optimism!!
I'd rather die laughing than trying!
