Going back to my roots - I'd rather do that than go on about them in another country. Why go an Irish Centre or Pub, when you can go to a real one anyday of the week?

It's quite simple really, they're jealous of a superior city, with superior people....

There's really nothing more to say in response to such brilliant wit.

Please stay in touch Macy, email me on Brucemole123@hotmail.com

    You are a star.

I'd love to know more about you? What age are you? What do you do in Longford?

I can see it now, Shaun Ryder sitting in the corner of the local on Monday morning, sipping a pint of Boddingtons reading the Longford Leader and Cantona's autoboigraphy

We'll have a laugh on the board on Monday. Me merry

Behind that tough exterior lies a lonely heart so, Brice?

    I don't know. Are we?

Either way, you might find this site has not fallen to the 'new man who opens up to his friends' way of thinking just yet. Unless, you take in to account recent posts from $leon$, jamaican pm et al, that is. It's still all footie, music, computers and cars I'm afraid

    But thats true

Celtic fans are probably worse Brice, coz they think that Glasgow is in Ireland. At least Man Yoo fans know that Manchester is in a different country.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

    Very deep Magoo........

I am new to the world of cyber psychoanalysis and cyber etiquette but am a fast and willing learner.

Perhaps a few days on the boards of 'observe and learn' before I post would have been better advised?

    Great first post!

Substitute manure for liverpool and you have same problem.

Friend of mine thinks they should be all blowtorched!! Bit extreme but IMO they are a disgrace.

Ask one of them "If Ireland were playing england who would you support?" When they answer Ireland then ask "If manure were playing an Irish club who would you support?" When they answer manure point out the hypocrisy.

More hypocrisy is when they slag off the EL. They dont seem to understand that our league would improve if, instead of spending thousands of sterling annually, they actually supported their local club.

They are all sheep too. The real reason they "support" manure or wankpool is because EVERYONE ELSE DOES. How pathetic. Look at that west brit rag known as the herald on a wednesday. A whole page dedicated to muppets like york supporters club Ireland FFS.

Bottom line if you're Irish support an Irish club.

    fair point hoop

i think that the standard of footie in Ireland is poor though. As a rovers fan i'm sure you are more aware than most of that (no dig intended there)
The 3rd placed team in our league played rovers in a pre season 2 years ago and only lost 2-0

The glamour of the epl is a big draw against that backdrop.

Whatever floats your boat, strange choice though!

I think the urban rural debate is not for here but personally i could only live in the suburbs of a city. Inner city is too grubby, rural life too quiet for me

It's the crowd that sneer at the game here, no matter what club they like abroad, that I hate.
That's because they're sheep. If andy gray said jump into a barrel of paint they'd do it. They sneer at the league cos it's popular with the other muppets in the boozer.

Any english jersies that are sold to santa should be €100 with half the price going to the local EL team as a sort of tax
