    Tonights EL meeting

Paddy McCaul of Athlone Town was elected as interim chaiman of the Eircom league. McCaul was proposed by Kilkenny City and Sligo Rovers and proposed by Finn Harps and seconded by Kilkenny will hold the position to the offical AGM on Feb 5th 2005.

It was also decided at the meeting that the 2005 season will commence on Week ending February March 20th and will end on week ending November 20th.

So how many days is that?

Didn't hear anything about the propsed Promotion/Relegation system

The eircom League have announced details of the structure and details of the 2005 season.
The season will begin on the weekend of 20th March.
The Premier division will see 12 teams playing each other three times. In addition, there will be three scheduled weekends of FAI Cup games, leaving 36 weekends and interestingly no scheduled midweek games.
The first division will see ten teams play each other four times, with three FAI Cup weekends there will be a need for three rounds of midweek games.
Promotion and relegation issues have also been announced. The bottom team in the Premier will be relegated while the top side in the first division will be promoted. Eleventh in the Premier will also have a two legged play-off with the second placed side in the first division with a place in the top flight at stake.

Is that open to the public ??

The fixtures should be released before this date to give time to clear any loose ends up. I hope to god it doesn't drag on again.

Was anything mentioned about this ??
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
