John Delaney Park in Clones I think. Though what they needed it for after the 5mil they got I don't know.

DID YOU NOTICE A SIGN OUTSIDE MY HOUSE...?
Dundalk won it. It was on their official Facebook page a little while ago.
Ah for jaysis...
They'll probably just get a years supply of those black pellets with the 5k
Probably hold on to it to pay for the extra special green pellets for the new carpet next season. Then all grumbles will cease! Dont we have a designated thread to resurrect for Dundalk related pitch stuff.
The club are spending €300k on the pitch at the end of the season. Probably won't stop the grumbling though.
Thats why we enviously look and Tallaght (though soulless) and now Dalymount and maybe Bray - we'd be quite happy to become council tenants! Otherwise it is a Sligo like sensible use of success with some help from sports capital grants, or convince the Leinster FA to base itself in Dundalk and have them rebuild Oriel Park...the carpet stays though!!
Sticks and stones...probably not the best proverb to use in a football context lol. We are all well aware of Oriel's failings in this day and age, so pragmatically we dont disagree with much of the criticism. Pitch is not ideal but it is what it is and should be upgraded this close season albeit for another artificial surface but of a higher spec. The away terrace view isn't perfect but it is the very same on the home terrace or 5 minute terrace as its recently being called and also uncovered with fans open to the elements. There are restricted views in the stand but again its the same for all supporters. I dont think there are many of us that are overly precious in the defence of Oriel, there is a lot that is problematic. Hopefully a sustained period of success along with the spoils of European football will allow us emulate some of what Sligo have done.
Drink = truth serum, it cant be retracted now!
Sure that's just part of the course, but it's not exactly effecting things. As stated many times before, it is highly unlikely that any new spectator structures will be built before the club take ownership of the lease from the previous owner.
If they do, and we hear they are making progress I would expect the current owners can then sit down and plan what areas need improving (there's a lot) in priority order. The money earned from Europe will help, also they can then apply for capital sports grants.
From what I hear, they will be replacing the current pitch regardless of any movement on the lease.

I know a lot of stuff is tongue in cheek here but the away end was a disgrace when Galway (all 6 of us!) were up there.
There was broken glass around the place as well as broken seats etc.
Whatever about not spending money on upgrading facilities not even bothering to get someone to at least tidy the area before the match was just lazy.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"
The away end is a disgrace, no argument there, however I can't see any funding being made available to spend on it in the short term. However it is hard to disagree that it could and most certianly should have been at the very least cleaned up. That is just unacceptable.
There are plans to improve the ground, however as per my previous post the current owners need to get hold of the lease first. As much as this away area is really poor, (I'd actually consider closing it, and making 1/4 stand free and open terrace in front of the stand instead for away fans, behind the away dugout), there is simply no point doing a quick fix. It has to be properly improved or not at all. I would love a new structure built behind the goal for away fans, and same behind town goal for familes etc home support.
Hopefully funding will be made available after europe and the lease situation gets sorted, and the club can then make plans to modernise the old place. However with the pitch going to cost up to 300k, there will be a long list.
