I see Billy Cleary's name there too.
Galway Uniteds out-of-contract striker Damien Dupuy has been added to the PFAI list of available players. He joins clubmates Nigel Keady, Colin Fortune and Robert Forde on the list.
I see Billy Cleary's name there too.
.. as he needs to resign some more of last years outfit and bring in some new additions. Billy Clery would be a godd option, if he could patch things up with Il Duce.
On an unrelated subject, comiserations to Ryan Casey, who just failed to win a modelling competition at the weekend. Check out the "Karma" website for details.![]()

Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
management don't even know what players are under contract, as Il Duce
claimed that Keady was. Of course, this is incorrect.![]()
Fortune is no loss, not good enough for a top First Divsion side, no pace. Nigel (Tony ?) is a reasonable First Division standard defender. Appalling distribution, but will always give 100%, even if he has a few "rabbit caught in the headlights" moments. Robert Forde doesn't even merit comment.
The only GUFC player on the list who would (possibly) be an addition to a Premier side is Dupuy.
Thankfully John Russell is still under contract. Despite the best efforts of all at the club, he may be able to drag us into the promotion shake-up. This will sicken his employers, however, and surely will result in him being dropped and being replaced by some impeccably groomed chap from Salthilll.
Joseph Heller could write a book about it.
Aaaarrrrggghhhh !!!!
I dont think im being harsh anyone disagree.
Talks will take place between GUFC and their out of Contract Players next week. The club was concentrating on their UEFA Licencing Application deadline today and the structures of the club (All will be revealed to Club Members First).
Damo is due back in Galway after christmas and im sure he will want to talk to Galway 1st.Strange thing footballers never ever seem to like managers but after last years performances a lot of individuals at United have to take a long hard look at themselves and that begins with the players who let down everybody at the club despite being on top wages and always getting what they asked for.
I dont think im being harsh on anyone and as for Tony im sure he is as disappointed as we are and sometimes its easy for fans to scapegoat the manager while massaging the players egos.
word around town at the weekend was that damian will be going to waterford when he comes back from his xmas break, home to france? anyone else here that? looping??![]()
waterford are after him alrite along with a few other clubs i'm sure, but he hasnt made any decisions yetOriginally Posted by Terry

Hold on, isn't it the manager's job to get the players to play and if they don't to get rid of them? And it was him who brought those players in. The other way to look at this was that Mannion had a good budget at his disposal and didn't get the team anywhere near Kildare or Bray, never mind Harps or UCD. From what he said in Kates after the last match he seems to reckon the team will be even worse next year, in which case what is there to lose by getting rid of him?
If nothing else, look at how long Mannion let that waster Tony Folan remain at the club, I mean what was going on there?
